[The Doctor's script is slow and deliberate, like he's waiting on something unpleasant to finish that he just can't rush. He's got a question that's more idle curiosity than anything pressing, but one he'd like answered. After all, he's got to wait on the glue to dry on his little project, and may as well see if anyone might have any bright ideas.

Because being at sea is fairly boring. And there is a distinct lack of music, so may as well fill it with idle chatter.]

So, life on a ship. Dreadfully boring when there's nothing going on yes? Yes.

Well, I've gotten a bit bored and I could use some suggestions on ways to entertain myself between projects. And I thought that...well...perhaps some of you fine people might have some ideas, preferably nonviolent or lethal ones, on how that could happen.

Suggestions appreciated.

Regards,
The Doctor

Hello, everyone! I'm Aida Mana, and I wanted to introduce myself to all the people on Lady Maribelle's crew... you may have seen me talking on the journals before, but my friend Rikka finally made our decision, and we're joining you guys!

We're going to do our best to help out, and if you ever need anyone to help you out with something around the ship, just call on me, alright?

That said... my family owns a restaurant. I'm no master chef, but I definitely know my way around a kitchen. I imagine someone else is already working there, but there's no reason why we should have only one cook in the galley, right? I'd love to help out in any way I can, there!

Hope to hear from all of you!

[locked to Celestia Ludenberg]

Um, Celes-chan, I'm sorry that Rikka and I decided to go with someone else's crew... I hope that you and I can still be friends in the end, because I really do like and admire you. I wish yourc crew the best of luck out on the seas, and for you and in accomplishing your dream as well!

That said... I made sure to have some gyouza I prepared sent to you before Rikka and I set out... I hope you like it...

[Mana's gyouza isn't particularly amazing, but it is made competently, and it was done with a lot of effort and emotional investment]

Well. I feared the travel time would get dull, but yesterday turned out to be both educating and entertaining. It is so wonderful to see everyone having fun together! ♥

[Yes, Jade has been listening to all the journal posts. It has been very amusing.]

On a slightly more serious note, there is something I wanted to bring up. I doubt I'm the only one wondering about the logistics of our arrival here, which is why I'd like to ask... Have any of your respective worlds achieved this kind of large-scale transportation, whether through natural phenomena or technological advances? Anything that could allow a person to travel immense distances in an instance, or even transit between dimensions?

...And while I'm on the topic, I would be interested in any experiences with time displacement as well. It's not every day you get to compare notes with so many different scientific backgrounds.

That will be all for now. Carry on with your little pirate games, children~

*Selphie hasn't used this yet, and her writing is...rather girly, and that of someone who really isn't used to handwriting anything. But still, she's writing, and she's proud enough of herself for that fact. It's night, and rather dark outside, so Selphie has at least thought that it might not be nice to wake anyone with her voice*

On the sea...at night. It's so beautiful outside I can barely believe it! If you're awake right now, take yourself out on deck and have a good look at the view - it's magical, I promise!~

*For those in Selphie's crew, you might find the young woman huddled beneath a blanket at some corner of the deck. Try not to step on her*

Crisis of morale!

[Either she meant to write this in one of her other notebooks or she really did think this was worth sharing with everyone. It's hard to tell.]

[ Conan hadn't yet bothered with writing in the journal, deciding that he'd instead wait and merely flip through the pages. When he'd discovered that they could broadcast what was written in them into other journals he was, naturally, intrigued. There had to be a logical explanation for it, after all. ]

[ Finally, he puts his fountain pen to the page and writes. ]

I came across something interesting and I'm wondering how deep it goes. So, I'm going to list a few things, let me know if they are familiar to you:

Sherlock Holmes

Kogoro Akechi

Al Capone

Interpol

FBI

The Maltese Falcon

The Roman Empire

Arsène Lupin

Kaitou Kid

The Eiffel Tower

Tokyo Tower

Mount Everest

Snow Woman

Coffee Pot

Forensic Science

DNA

Showa Era

Crew Wanted

[Kyouya writes a little larger than he normally would, wanting to make sure that it's noticed on its page. Not just skimmed by, as he fears some of these things might be.

It still may be, but it's worth a chance.]

I am acting on behalf of Lady Maribelle -- the daughter of the duke of Themis and court magistrate of Ylisstol, trained in naval warfare and military tactics -- and am looking for those who would be interested in joining a crew.

What we seek are principled individuals, those who wish to find treasure but do it without engaging in acts of piracy. We intend to stand against pirates when they cross us, so those who have experience with battle would be most welcome. It is not, however, a requirement.

If you are interested, please either contact me through these journals or come to the Restful Night Tavern. I will have a table there to speak with you personally. I am happy to answer any questions.

Thank you for your attention,
Otori Kyouya

[ it's been ages since she last had to communicate this way. it's a little nostalgic, except for the lack of a palm for her to finger letters over. ]

Lloyd Irving
Professor Raine Sage
Genis Sage
Sheena Fujibayashi
Zelos Wilder
Presea Combatir
Regal Bryant

[ she goes on to list many many more people who she had met on her journey, almost as if she just wants to fill up the pages. ]

Have any of you found a journal, too? It's Colette. I'm okay, so everyone please don't worry about me.

If anyone else sees this...

How do you sail a ship? I've been on one but I never learned.
