*Selphie hasn't used this yet, and her writing is...rather girly, and that of someone who really isn't used to handwriting anything. But still, she's writing, and she's proud enough of herself for that fact. It's night, and rather dark outside, so Selphie has at least thought that it might not be nice to wake anyone with her voice*

 

On the sea...at night. It's so beautiful outside I can barely believe it! If you're awake right now, take yourself out on deck and have a good look at the view - it's magical, I promise!~

 

*For those in Selphie's crew, you might find the young woman huddled beneath a blanket at some corner of the deck. Try not to step on her*

Really? Oh wow! How do you like it? You're not getting sea sick or anything, are you?

Yes, I never traveled much.

I haven't been seasick at all! But I spend most of my time up where I can feel the breeze, so I think that helps.

[Lara isn't much one for sleep lately. After coming here, there's been more opportunity for it but a few hours a day are pretty much all she can operate on without getting difficult.

She's been walking the deck, on self-appointed watch when she notices Selphie. Plenty of their crew has been sea-sick but she didn't think anyone would be out this time of night. At least she has a blanket and Lara hugs her arms to herself - a peacoat was the most she could afford, the rest of her clothes are in tatters still as she wears them.

Lara quietly approaches Selphie before speaking softly, not wanting to scare her. It doesn't occur to her that she's simply enjoying the view.]

Are you alright?

*Beneath the blanket, Selphie wasn't exactly warm, but she was comfortable enough. In fact, she was enjoying herself enough that she was quietly humming, and didn't noticed that anyone else was on deck.

The voice does startle her, though only slightly, and she has to scoop up her blanket after dropping it*

Hi! Sure, I'm just enjoying the view. Are you alright?

*Selphie smiles, realising that actually she could do with some company*

Yes! [She answers too quick, she realizes and Lara smiles and makes herself answer again - calmer this time.]

Yes. I'm fine, just..stretching my legs is all.

Mind if I join you?

[Lara could do with a bit of company and she knows it's paranoid but its' easier to relax around women right now. After Yamatai, where the island had been filled with homicidal maniacs that believed every girl they found needed to be burned to see if she was worthy of becoming a vessel to a supernatural queen, well. Needless to say, Selphie is a much welcomed alternative.]

*Selphie nods her head understandingly at first, before nodding quicker in enthusiasm*

*Having another woman on board is actually really nice. She's used to hanging out with both guys and girls, but female company is something that's been lacking so far. It's nice to see she's not alone. So she lifts up her blanket, offering Lara some space beneath it*

True. Fortunately, they're not mutually inclusive, and the fact the first part is attached to the second strikes me as hopeful. Even in war, there is beauty to be found--if one should only look.

[He wasn't much for replying to these journal things, but laying back in his hammock and doing nothing didn't suit him. Besides, he was trying to see if he... recognized anyone. Sadly, no one yet.]

[He'd seen her comment though, and recognized her as part of the crew. Selphie, was it? He hadn't been very social yet. Still, it had been a while since he did the 'stare at nothing on the seas' thing.]

[So he might have found himself wandering above deck, boots pulled on over pants, bare chested and completely phased by the cold night air. He wasn't looking for her at that moment, just... taking her advice. She was right. It was nice out here.]

[Moving to lean on a rail he stared out over the water, deciding it was better to stay awake and watch the inky night then it was to continue to think of... others. If he happened to be near the blanketed lump that was the girl, he seemed not to notice.]

*It was so pretty out here that Selphie had been quite distracted, in her head completely removed from everything that was going on around her. It took her a moment or two, then, to realise that there was someone else up on deck with her.

Still sitting beneath her blanket, Selphie tilted her head as she watched him take a look around, apparently appreciating the view too. Then she realised that he wasn't actually wearing anything up top, and that had her flustered for a brief moment.

Eventually, she did speak up, careful not to disturb him in whatever it was that he was thinking about. She's only a foot or so away from him - he could reach out and kick her if he really wanted to*

[What? Wear shirts? Ha. Only when he needs to (besides, his tank top he DID come here with was drying, so... eh). Get used to it, princess.]

[When he heard her speak up though, he wasn't surprised or startled. He's noticed where she was, had caught a sniff of her, as strange as that sounds. The girl from the party. It wasn't until now that he realized it.]

[Not moving from the railing he leaned here, both hands on the edge, watching the water as he spoke] Not bad.

[He did give in a moment after, glancing back to her little lump of blanket] I got good advice from someone that it was a good view. Guess I could agree.

*Then don't mind her if she stares for a second or two, okay? But just a very quick second or two! Selphie shuffled beneath her blanket, finally managing to pull herself into standing. It wasn't easy, though, and she groaned slightly at the cramp in her legs*

Guess there's some real wise lady on this ship... People should take her advice more often.

*Hobbling slightly, Selphie moves to join him at the edge, one hand pulling the blanket tight over her shoulders*
