[there was a sound like the journal being flung open suddenly]
hello?! Faye? Dave and Grell? What happened....
[he was freaked out for a second, trying to recall what happened and why he was laying alone on a beach and feeling like he was or had been in danger. Then it all came back]
Oh yeah. Um guys, it's Thash...

Oh yeah. Um guys, it's Thash...

[boy was he glad to see them when they arrived. Not just because he'd get to see Faye and the crew he loved, but because he was very dehydrated and hungry by then. He hadn't been able to get the attention of any of the people on the mainland to help him, he was too far for them to see or hear clearly. A fire would have worked, but the island was so small that any dead vegetation got blown or washed off of it...everything left was too green to set fire to]
[luckily there had at least been a few small trees for shade. Thash stood up from under them, moving slowly to the beach to watch the pull in close]

I missed you...
[the hug didn't really hurt his muscles, it was just his skin. She'd probably notice immediately it felt different. While it was normally sort of moist and soft except the scaly parts, it now felt very dry and stretched, like paper]
no subject
...are you okay? You feel...different.

[he usually kept a barrel of seawater in there for fish he caught, but seeing as how he hadn't been on the ship for a while, he couldn't be sure if it was there or not]

*Faye stepped away from him quickly, and when she turned she quickly swiped the tears from her eyes. She kept her back to him as she led the way down to the galley*
no subject
[he followed her down to the galley, looking in the barrel...sure enough, it had seawater in it. This would have to do until they sailed to clean waters.]
Thanks Faye... Don't worry, in going to make my absence up to you. [he wiped at her still-moist cheek gently]
[As cruddy as he felt, he still managed to lift the barrel and take it up into the deck. He was moving it because he intended to dump it in himself and didn't want to make a mess in the galley]

Thash had been dead. It wasn't just that he was somewhere else...but that he'd died. And he'd said he missed her but she wondered how much he'd even noticed he'd been gone. It was all ao strange, and she didn't feel comfortable with it all at that moment*

[once on the deck, he set the barrel down then tipped it so he could submerge his face and head in the water and take a good 'breath' of it to moisten his dry gills. Then he lifted the whole barrel and dumped it on his body. For a few seconds, he felt blissfully refreshed]
[then the pain started]
[it flared up very quickly in his throat and gills- an intense burning and stinging sensation. Than his whole body felt almost like it was on fire. He screamed hoarsely, grimacing. Then he started to cough as it felt like his throat and lungs might be starting to swell as they burned]
no subject
What? What is it? What is it?
no subject
[but it wasn't poisoned. Faye could even check what was spilled all over the deck if she wanted, and she'd find normal sea water. Yet his skin was breaking out and he was clearly in pain. He clung to the railing to prevent falling over completely, his breath coming in tense wheezes]

Thash there's...nothing wrong with the water. Just wait right there. Sit down.
*Faye rushed off, fighting back tears and swearing the whole time, then returned with a bottle of water and some pills*
Here, take these.
*She hoped antibiotics and some pain killers would do...something*

What's happening to me... [he looked at Faye a little helplessly, hoping that class she had taken would give her some insight to what was going on with his body. It itched... He had to try very hard to resist the urge to scratch himself all over]
no subject
I don't know... It's almost like you've had some kind of reaction to the water. But that doesn't make sense.
no subject
[he stood up slowly, perhaps feeling even worse than before, but at least his itchy skin was a little more moist. He was more concerned about her, and what she'd been through the last couple of weeks. Seeing this little incident with the water probably wasn't helping]
Are you okay?
no subject
*Faye looked outraged at the thought. Now that he was standing and not so obviously in pain it was easier for her to get her feelings out. And there were a lot of them*
You DIED, Thash. You were killed. Then you're supposed to come back, but no... Stay away for nearly weeks, leaving me all depressed and guilty and hating everything! Do you have any idea how much I drank when you were gone? Then you come back and pull this stunt with the poisoned water and finally you ask me if I'm OKAY?!
Well, I'm not. I'm not okay one bit.
*She'd been getting gradually closer as she ranted, until eventually she was nearly standing on his toes and prodding her finger hard into his chest*
no subject
I know you've been through a lot, baby...and I'm sorry. It may not have seemed as king to me but I still missed you and wasn't happy about it...[he looked down a bit, then took her pointing hand in his hand]
Will you let me make it up to you? We are right next to an island that's great for relaxing...I think you could use some pampering.
no subject
I just...don't want you to leave me. Not ever. I couldn't stand it.
no subject
I don't want to leave you...ever
no subject
*Faye looked up at him again, her expression fiercely determined rather than upset. She blinked, aware that her mascara was probably smudged, but not caring*
Right?
no subject
[a conversation came to mind that he'd had with Marco...Marco had done sort of big plans for this world. He wasn't sure what, but it sounded like he was going to try to take people where they wanted to go if this world ended. Of course, Thash had asked to stay with Faye, wherever she went. It didn't matter where]
And now I've really got it in for Jones, keeping me away from you for so long...he's going to pay
