Since yesterday was Mother's Day, I've been wondering how many of you are mothers? All family is important. At least, I think so. But mothers...
[Considering she has lost her mother, Haruhi feels a lot of things about the day.]
It's special, isn't it? Not that being a father is easy. [She knows that from watching her Dad struggle all of these years.] But it's not Father's Day.
So...
Tell me about your mothers. And if you are a mother, I hope you're close to your children. Nothing can replace that bond.
[Uh oh, getting too serious again.]
Anyway, I know it's a little late, but let's celebrate.

I don't know what happened to my mother. I wonder what mother bears say to their babies.
You want kids then? [Haruhi, so cute
for a human][written]
in a strangely familial way.]She must have done a good job. [Because he's pretty amazing.] I do. I want a career first, but then...
Yeah, kids would be nice.
[written]
You think so? I wonder what she was like.
What kind of career do you want?
[written]
My mother was one.
[written]
A lawyer? Like... keeping laws?
[written]
[He deserves to have a family.]
Lawyers are people who are qualified to represent others in court. By representing, you can protect them and ensure their story is told. My Mom...
She only represented people she believed in. I would do the same.
[written]
Maybe. I don't know if she'd be like me though. What if she's a common bear like all the other ones? [why is he even writing this...]
Even if they were a pirate?
[written]
You could take care of her? At least make sure she's happy.
[Even a common mother bear can have a happy Mother's Day.]
If I knew they were innocent of the crime, I would happily represent them. I don't care what they look like or if their past is less than perfect: everyone deserves protection when they're innocent.
[written]
Stealing is a crime, so if someone was caught and put up for execution because the exist, and you knew they stole things in the past, like important things to people,
like hearts, but he'd keep the stolen things safe, would that count against them?[written]
I would support you all I could.
[He poses a good question and she thinks about it before answering.]
It would depend on his reasoning. I agree that theft is a crime, but sometimes the punishments for it are too harsh. If he thought he was helping - or protecting - someone or something then he should be shown leniency.
[written]
[He's pretty sure she wouldn't want to represent Captain Law... but she wont name him here. He'd never get caught anyhow. He was too good for that!]
It sounds like you'd have to take a lot of time into deciding on the person or not. Like judging them to see if they were honest or worthy? If you believe in them then, you'd represent them?
[written]
Talking to the person and getting to know them is all that it takes. I'd talk to their friends and family too. But yes, if I believed in them, I would represent them.
[written]
You'll make a good lawyer then. Where I'm from Lawyers aren't that good or thoughtful. judging tends to be done by the Marines anyhow. Nothing is fair. I think you'd be fair.
[written]
To be fair is what every lawyer should strive for. Those that don't, well, they might be rich, but does money really make up for lying?
I don't think it does.
[written]
Money makes things easier, but harder too, if you're not honest. Honesty can be hard to find on the seas sometimes.
[written]
Dad said I was honest even as a child. I don't think I would be a good liar.
[written]
[Oh, and then another entry to follow, more calmly]
It's good to be able to lie sometimes. It can save your life, but honest people are the best.
[written]
[She's an excellent student when it comes to academics, at least.]
That's true, but I wouldn't want to put myself in a position like that.
[written]
[he liked your crew too, so he wouldn't mind, though he wonders if they would...]
Hopefully you wont ever have to.
