Out of curiosity, has anybody figured out a...I don't know, an antidote or something to protect people from losing their damn minds every other month? By now I've seen enough bizarre behavior, it'd be nice to find some kind of immunity to that.

...not that we can predict when it happens.

[Realizes all at once just how up in Zoro's personal space he is actually is and pulls back sharply, hands clenched by his sides. He's breathing harder than is really necessary considering they're just shouting at each other, and he tries to cover it with a scoff.]

...That isn't even a shitty word! [There's a beat, and then for good measure:] Dumbass.

[he doesn't even realize until Sanji jerks back that they've been nose-to-nose way too long. But shouting at him feels so good, so right, like everything really is back to normal.]

[okay he can do way better than that]

[Snorts.]

[Fans absently at his face. What, it's warm suddenly.]

I thought that was you.

[peering] What's the matter?

[Glowers.]

[Then he blinks.]

[Notices what he's doing suddenly.

...Forces his hand down somewhat awkwardly and clears his throat.]

[folding his arms again, feeling all smug]

[Annoyed that he looks all smug! ...But also feeling weirdly off balance for some reason.]

[Shoulders past him toward the galley door, jerking his tie loose as he goes.]

I just need a damn drink.

[funny, that's what he was coming up here for in the first place. Which means he totally follows.]

There should be plenty of sake since I spent a whole day avoiding it.

[Shoots him a flat look even as he reluctantly grabs two glasses.]

[Harrumphs, moving toward the liquor cabinet.]

[well, well. Drinking with him, cook? Interesting. He takes his glass and gives it an appreciative sip before tossing back half of it in one shot.]

He pauses with his glass halfway to his mouth, though, then just shrugs and takes a sip.]

He sips the rest of his sake more slowly, after the first hit.]

[snorts. Whatever, cook.]

...Which, by the way, that was a really fucking bizarre thing to watch. Looking back. You hoarding my damn tea.

I don't even like black tea all that much. It feels odd, remembering that I hated the taste of booze even though I know I don't.
