So I know this is going to sound a little out of the blue, but I was wondering just how many people out there would call themselves engineers? I've been thinking about piecing something together and I wouldn't mind a little extra help.

[And because she feels like she has to ask for reasons]

Hey Ace. Is your head feeling any better there, champ?

[That last word just slipped out]

[For a while, Elizabeth ponders on if she should try to make this somehow private or not. However, she has no real idea of whom to ask and without that making it private is quite complicated, maybe if there was a way to just exclude certain people... But it's not that important either, just a bit embarrassing because, honestly, she should have done it months ago.

Eventually, she just gives up on the question and makes the entry wide and public, her voice sounding cheerful but still serious as she speaks.]

Greetings everyone!!

I have a little question for you all, especially those of you who have sailing experience beyond our time here, but I would appreciate any answers and suggestions even if you don't have so! I know this may sound silly but... What is a First Mate to you? I mean, what should a good First Mate do?

I've been trying to do my best, supporting my crew's captain and helping where it's needed. So it's not as if I've not been doing my job! I just... I just wonder if there's something that I should be doing, but I'm not because I've no previous experience with this. So if anyone has something, specific or not, I would appreciate it if you could share it with me. I don't want to be a lousy First Mate, both for my crew's and my captain's sake.

Ha ha ha! I must say, the creatures in this world are amazing. Many are the same as they are back home, if a bit smaller. The rest are so unique that they are truly beyond imagining. It's wonderful, all the things I've been learning since I got here. Currency, sailing, cooking, haggling, exploring, religions, worlds beyond the one I know. So much to take in.

Oh, and I have managed to find myself a wonderful friend in the form of a Miss Fuu Hououji. We've snagged ourselves a small boat and are doing well, despite a few missteps.

[His breath hitches as he feels a tug on his tail, which is trailing in the water. There's a sudden ROAR, followed by a loud splash as his massive paw displaces water. He drags a large something up onto the deck.]

And such large and delicious fish, as well! I must say, this "cooking" thing you humans have come up with makes them taste even better.

Color me confused because I was sure I was finished with this stuff. [It was as visible as day how annoyed Katarina is as she speaks.]

I thought I was over and done with pirates for decades to come. I had enough of their pitiful trifles over gold and politics. As if Gangplank and Fortune aren't enough of a trouble as it is. [The pirate and the pirate hunter. She doesn't know how she got dragged into their political squabble. She supposes it was Swain's fault in the end- he did have his eye on Miss Fortune for a long time.]

I still can't wash clothes from Bilgewater's stench. While I don't like to ask for help, it would be good to hear from someone how to leave. Noxus is of bigger importance to me than this... shipyard. Then again- I can always 'extract' information if they keep silent. No one said I have to be -nice-.

Excuse me? Hello? Can anyone understand what I'm saying through this book? I've seen people speaking into these strange books and other people seem to speak back. I'm...really rather confused by this entire place.

Tarouza? Kurokagi? Anyone? What happened after the battle? Did we win? Is that why I can understand all of these people?

[There's a bit of shuffling as he moves through underbrush, emerging near the market area. Screaming immediately starts from everyone who catches sight of him.]

...Well, that was a bit rude. They all ran away. Anyway, back to business. I've been wondering about some other things that seem to be important, here. Perhaps one of the people listening can tell me.

First of all, what is "currency" and how does it work? I've been given little shiny bits of this "currency", but I'm not sure what to do with it.

Second, how does "writing" and "reading" work? It's something you humans do for these book things, correct? I'm...really a bit new to all of this.

Why are you all so large? The humans I know are much smaller. Or have I somehow gotten smaller?

I have to wonder, how many books did someone speak into before they discovered this one was magical?

[ A small chuckle, and what sounds like a long drag of a cigarette. ]

My, my, they must have made quite a scene, I'm surprised nobody called the Marines. Or maybe someone did... It would explain why Scurvey-chan is so grumpy.

Aha, regardless, it's a pleasure to meet everyone. My name is Shakki, short for 'Shakuyaku', since I realise that's quite a mouthful for you younger ones. [ Another puff. ] After I figure everything out, lets have a drink together, alright? We could have a party and get to know each other a little better.
