*The effect isn't quite instant, but it does work. Her expression is entirely focused on Natsuno for a moment, before the angry look in her eyes turns softer, and she smiles. She looks at him, still smiling, then realises she is holding her nunchaku, and remembers that she was angry with him a moment ago*

Hey - what the?! Yuuki! You can't just do that to me!

*And this time she goes for an even harder whack of her nunchaku*

Ow! That really hurts you know!

Well that's what you get for playing with my head! Don't. Do. It. It's cool and all that you've figured it out, but seriously... *She frowns and shakes her nunchaku in warning*

I promise I won't do it again.

[He sighs a little and bows appropriate to a sincere apology. There isn't much of a need to do it again, not to Selphie anyway.]

*She seems satisified enough, and nods, but rests her weapon over her shoulder jus in case*

How did you figure you could do that anyway?

[He looks like he's thinking about the least depressing way to put it.]

Shimizu used hypnosis at a distance to torment me, and there's a few other things she was able to do when she came to kill Tohru. She had control over my body.

[Yeah, he's not going to do that to Selphie.]

I'm feeling especially...strong at the moment.

And... You're not gonna try any of those tricks on me, are you? Cause - I think that would weird me out a little too much. That's kinda gross.

*Because talking about this in a more light-hearted way might be better than allowing him to be depressed about it*

Huh, I wonder why that is? Is it like, a moon thing? Wait, no, that's werewolves...

No, I'm not going to do anything else to you. My hand still hurts.

[It's part of why dealing with his own vampirism is such a sore point. He's had a real taste of what they can do.]

It's because when I got rescued, I bit a few people in the process. I've had a lot more blood then I normally do.

*And she allows herself a little smile of triumph*

Oh... I see. Well, I'm glad that something good came out of... all of that.

*She sighs a little awkwardly - she hadn't seen any good from her point of the events*

It wasn't that good. I kind of lost control, but Riku grounded me. I am grateful for that.

[He exhales, closing his eyes a moment.]

I could have killed one of them. Whatever those chains were, were suppressing me and snapping out of it was...an experience.

I wish I'd been strong enough to fight back... but... things just didn't work out that way.

*Mostly because she'd been very close to her own death*

I'm glad Riku was there to help you. And I'm sorry I couldn't.

Don't feel bad about that Selphie. We couldn't really know what we were in for. I should have been able to resist myself, but I was just as weak as I've always been.

[His fingers curl into fists and he looks down.]

I am fortunate enough that I can heal from something like that physically, with little time or effort. Especially once I bit someone. It's not like that for you.

[After a pause he reaches out and touches her arm gently.]

As scary as my illusion was, you know I'll never hurt you right?

But that's kinda why we offer to let you feed too. Doesn't matter if you think you can do without. What if something like that happens again? You need to be as strong as you can be.

*She watches as he looks down, and though maybe he can't see it, she shakes her head - her wrists are still pink and healing, and the deep cuts on her leg will probably scar. She blinks when he touches her arm - as light as it is, she's surprised. But in answer she launches herself closer to him and hugs him tightly*

[Natsuno is very surprised when she hugs him. For one thing, she hasn't really done that to him before, and for another he just scared the crap out of her. It takes a moment for his mind to catch up.]

I...I um...okay?

[People just don't go around hugging him and he's not entirely sure what he should do. It's different from Tohru throwing his arm around him or the light roughhousing they used to engage in. He brings a hand up and places it on her head.]

*Selphie just giggles as she gives him another squeeze, and she looks up at him with a bright smile*

Yuuki! You look like you've never had a hug before!

*But she's teasing really, and she chuckles when he puts a hand on her head*

[Natsuno's eyes are still a little wide, but he's not entirely sure what to do. He shakes his head a bit.]

Not like this, I mean, it's customary not to really touch people in my country. Tohru-chan put his arm around me sometimes, but...that's not really normal.

Oops! Well, I guess we ruined that custom!

*She smirks, giving Natsuno a coy look and batting her eyelashes at him*

Don't worry, Yuuki, I'm not flirting with you.

I-I didn't say you were! I mean...it's okay I guess.

[Other people's customs are pretty strange anyway, moreso if he's being hugged.]

*And she just continues with blinking her eyelashes at him, hugging him a little tighter*

You mean, you ~want~ me to flirt with you, Yuuki?

What?! No!

[Natsuno is blushing pretty hard and he squirms a little.]

Maybe you could just...

[He gestures with his hand at the hugging.]

*And with that Selphie just bounces right back, keeping her limbs to herself, and at an actual reasonable distance. And then she bursts into laughter*

Yu - Yuuki, seriously. You could really upset a girl like that...

[Natsuno clears his throat a little and looks away.]

Girls do not want to hug me. Even Shimizu wouldn't have, I don't think. I'm not even sure why you hugged me.

[In fact, he's completely lost control over this conversation.]

Well, I know I wanted to hug you, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. And aside from the fact of you being so adorable... Actually, that's all. You were being very sweet, and I thought it deserved a hug.

But hey - half the crew don't like it when I hug them so I don't see why it should be any different with you!

[He feels a little guilty at that and runs his hand through his hair.]

It isn't really about who's hugging me. It isn't you. It's just not something I am accustomed to.

I wasn't really trying to be sweet I just...I scared you and I'm sorry, and I don't want you to think I would do something to you. I wouldn't.

Well, I'll try not to be offended. But you should maybe hug some more people, just to get used to it. Lemme see... The Doctor gives nice hugs, Marco is very cuddly, don't go to Ace. No offense, but...it won't happen. Uhm, Ikki gives really, very nice hugs... And Riku. You could always practise with Riku...

*Of all the sly grins. Hope you like her hints and tips for crew hugs!*
