[ Madoka's voice comes over the journal singing!! ]

Happy birthday to me~! Happy birthday to me~!

Happy birthday [ ........ nope too shy to go on. She cuts herself off with giggles at and is almost audibly covering her face. She still sounds pretty pleased though; ] Ah, never mind, forget that! It's too embarrassing!

But, back when everyone was still at Isla Empieza, did anyone see somewhere that might have cake? Just a small one would be fine...

Den den mushi... they are these little psychic snails that telepathically communicate with each other. With enough machinery they can also be used by people to cast transmissions over long distances.

Like the book... but with a snail.

Most of them only send faxes or audio, but a few send video.

I take it your world doesn't have them?

[Even Marco is beginning to suspect his world might be a little weird by other people's standards.]

That sounds kind of boring. What do you do for mail? We have seagulls in my world.

Sorry, you've lost me again.

Cars? Airplanes?

Ships... on land.

[GURL you so crazy.]

[Wait a thought.]
Like bicycles? But what is their power source?

So they have batteries?

[You and everyone else, Madoka. He hasn't even mentioned the giant laser-shooting robots yet.]

That's creative. I wonder why the differences. Mah, then again, I haven't sailed all the islands yet, so I guess there could be an island with things like that.

I guess because most islands you can't get anywhere without sailing, yoi.

[He thinks about it a little and grins.] Do you like this world so far?
fierybluebird: (you found me)

Then that might go for my world too.

But my world is a lot harsher than what I've seen of this place so far.

My brother punched a royal and they sent out the navy and the royal's personal guards. Back in my world, the response would have been instantaneous and lethal. I miss my other brothers, but my world is a rougher place. It's kind of nice and freeing here, eh.

Eh, most weak pirates are. They'll only bite what they can chew and go running if you give them a strong enough kick.

It's just finding out what a strong enough kick is that makes it tricky.
fierybluebird: (Something on your mind?)

Aye, it's just annoying, but at least it doesn't hurt. It makes me worry where the strong ones are though, eh.

[Sidelong grin, though it isn't visible, or even verbal in this case.]

That's what has me worried.
