[After the escape from Yuezhong -- for those on the Spade Pirates crew, he's on watch up in the crow's nest. Things seem calm at the moment, though, which means he's a liiiiittle bored, so have some random jotted down thoughts.]

Well, definitely didn't pick a boring crew to join. And here I thought I knew how to stir up trouble quickly. Then again, traveling from world to world before, I learned how to keep a low profile, too.

Guess that's not happening here. Can't complain, though. Things are good.

The sea's really quiet tonight...

Watching the ocean like this feels like I'm back home again.

[You'll hear a faint splash suddenly, and there's a pause before the writing starts up again, this time accompanied by Riku's muttered voice:]

.......Except we didn't have fish that big. Or—what is that? Is that a whale??

It... kinda looked like a whale, but.... [Sounds completely shocked.]

Then again, it didn't seem very... whale-like, did it? [Best descriptive words, ever.]

You saw it, too?

I can't tell, I can't make it out very well. I think I saw some fins, though. Maybe.

Yeah... I was just under the crow's nest. [As he's saying that, he's moving to the railing, and looking up to wave--but he's soon turning back towards where the monster fish thing was.]

I think I saw some, too! [He pauses.] I wonder if we'll see even more strange creatures out here! [He sounds ...rather excited about that idea.]

[Leans out over the crow's next to look down at Sora, amused.]

Maybe. Apparently there was something mentioned about sea monsters recently?

Wait. Sea monsters? [He's going to glance back up at Riku with a slightly surprised expression. Maybe he should be keeping up with the journal better...?After a second, though, he's just going to give a '...well. what can we do except fight them.' look.]

...Guess that wouldn't be the craziest thing we've ever fought. [He smiles and shrugs a tiny bit, tilting his head to the side.]

Nah, you can handle giant fish pretty well. Hey, maybe you'll even get eaten again.

[Sits back again, disappearing from view, and goes back to writing in the journal for this next part:]

Except please don't get eaten again. You busy?

Heeeeey, that's not funny!

[And he's glaring up towards where ... Riku was. Hey, where'd he go? Glancing down, he blinks at the words that appeared.]

Well I didn't plan on it or anything. [He pauses a moment, tiling his head a the question.]

No not at all. Why?

[Snickers, YOU MIGHT HEAR IT FAINTLY, but he sticks with writing.]

I'm bored, that's why.

[And YOU MIGHT HEAR A FAINT GRUMBLE at that.]

Oh... So am I actually. I was told to take a break though...

How long are you supposed to be up there, though? [He pauses.] I'll take over for you if you think you'd enjoy being down here more.

I pulled the night watch, I'll be up here awhile.

But you could probably come up for a bit if you wanted. There's room.

[AKA please come up here and keep me company omg, but he's not going to say it like that. :|]

[He pauses to think about it for only a second.]

Kay give me sec.

[Thirty seconds later...

Hi, Riku. Have a Sora hopping in there with you. SO THE REST IS ACTION~]

Sure we won't get in trouble? [He grins, making it sort of obvious that the question's not completely serious. It's not like, between the two of them, they'll get distracted from the job, or anything.]

[Looks up as Sora climbs over the side of the crow's nest, grinning at him a little before he closes his journal and sets it to the side.]

I don't think it's against the rules to have someone else up here. [Pause.] I mean, as long as we don't get distracted and crash the ship into an iceberg or something.

[Setting his journal in his lap, he pauses a moment, before nodding.]

Yeah, I guess you're right.

[A laugh escapes.] Say... [His expression softens a bit into a more curious one.] What do you think about the crew so far? Think we picked a good one?

[Well... sure, Sora had agreed to join, before finding Riku...

But he totally would have went to a different one, if Riku had said he didn't want to be in this one.]

[Makes a considering sound.]

It's full of interesting people. And troublemakers. Kind of seems right up your alley.

[Gives Sora a sidelong glance and accompanying smirk.]

I think we did alright.

[He frowns a little at the comment about troublemakers being up his alley.]

What's that supposed to mean?

[But the expression softens and he smiles.]

Yeah... I think so, too. [With that, he grinned.]

[Raises an eyebrow.]

Uh, hello? [Gestures at himself.] I was kind of the opposite of innocent for awhile there and you're still hanging out with me. And anyway, this is all...kind of exciting. It's another new world, right? Regardless of how we got here. And I don't mind having to fight sometimes if it's for a good reason.

[Though it might be debatable if 'punching a noble in the face' is a good reason...]

[Now, you look here, Riku... you listen good.]

You were my best friend, before all that. And you weren't exactly yourself. [He looks down.] I just never stopped believing you still had good in you, is all. [Slight grin as he looks back up.] Well, wouldn't you do the same for me?

[Then he adds with a soft laugh.] It is exciting, actually. And, yeah, I'm not sure what that guy did, back there, but... I'm sure it had to be ...something bad. [Yeah, cause ...apparently, questioning the captain isn't something Sora does?]

...Mm. [Rubs at the back of his neck, looking a little awkward.] Of course I would. No question there. [Manages a small grin.] But I don't think I have to worry about that with you.

[Laughs, too, sounding more amused now.] Whatever they did, it sure pissed Ace off. His fire stuff is pretty cool, though.

[He pauses a moment, before laughing a bit.] I... guess not.

[He shrugs a bit, since... well, he doesn't know the future. He's going to hope they're right, at least.]

Yeah... [He then grins a little more widely.] The huge pillar of fire he did was really awesome!

[He leans forward a bit, another laugh escaping.] At least we know we have a strong captain, right??

Seriously, I was down in the harbor and I think I still felt the heat from that blast. It's good he's that strong, but...I think I'm more relieved he knows how to handle a ship this big.

[Shrugs, his grin widening a bit.]

I mean, you and I, we know we can ourselves in a fight anyway. Did you get to show off any of your stuff?

Ha ha yeah... That's definitely important, too!

[Pausing a moment, he scratches the back of his head.] Well, yeah, of course, but...

I didn't want to hurt any of them, too badly. They seemed pretty normal, at first. Of course, ...they definitely weren't. Even after a full blast of lightning, some stood right back up and were coming straight at us! Normal people can't do that, right? [Then again... they're not exactly in a normal place--he realizes that, completely, now.]

Not that it completely matters, now. We'll probably never see that island, again. [Sheepish laugh.]

I think after the past two years, I've forgotten what even qualifies as 'normal' anymore. But going against your lightning... Yeah, that's kind of surprising that it didn't take them out right away. Anyway, you never know, we might go back there sometime. Guess it depends how big this world is...

[Opens his journal again after a moment.]

Want to play Hangman or something?

... Yeah, that's a good point, actually. And I guess we'll only know after we explore some more, how big this place really is. [He laughs.

To the question, he immediately opens his own journal and nods. Heck yeah, he'll play a game with Riku. And he'll totally win.]

Yeah!

I'm curious what other kinds of islands we'll discover.

[Thinks for a moment.] I'll start with something easy. [Then jots down the following:]
