[voice to all/action for bloody roses] backdated to 27 July 2014
[the sounds of waves gently lapping against the side of a ship can be heard for a few seconds before a slightly concerned voice can be heard]
hey.... There's people in the water. I dunno if they're a threat or not. They swim away when I try to confront 'em...then as soon as I get back i
on the ship, they come back! What the heck....
[he doesn't sound too happy about their presence, but doesn't know what to do about it. He almost wants to attack them but they don't seem to be doing any harm]
Anybody know what's up with this? Has it happened before to those of you that have been here a while?

Are those people, or mermaids, or what?

*Faye raised a brow at him before looking back into the water - whatever these water people were, they didn't look like they'd start tearing him to shreds. But you never knew with this crazy world*

[he kept his eyes on the water, scratching the back of his neck] then when I came back on deck, they returned. It's the strangest thing. They're acting like shy animals or kids. They're doing something down there...they just won't let me see what.
[he gave a short sigh, folding his arms] I think after another 15 or 20 minutes in gonna dive in again just to make sure they're not damaging the ship somehow.
no subject
Oi! What are you doing down there?
*Sure enough, they seemed to disappear immediately. When she turned back to Thash, they appeared again*
Hmm... Yeah. That's maybe a good idea just in case.
no subject
[he nodded] yeah I'll check it out soon. Make sure they're not like... Putting some acidic crap on our hull or something
no subject
Thash! Are you flirting with me?
*Then she just chuckled and looked over into the water, watching the people swim around*
no subject
[he didn't really have any other way to entertain himself for the next few minutes besides watching the people or interacting with Faye, so...] or maybe I'm just stating some factual information
no subject
Mmhmm, it does, actually.
*Then she did turn around, leaning back against the edge of the ship and grinning at him*
Factual information, huh? And I suppose they're real shy of you because you're so handsome?
no subject
[he was leaning on the railing with his forearms but his eyes drifted from the water over to Faye, his tail swaying back and forth behind him slowly. The gesture looked vaguely playful]
no subject
Yes, I think it must be. They're shy of how utterly gorgeous you are.
*Then her expression became much more flirtatious as she winked and looked back into the water, watching the sea people moving around*
no subject
[though he wouldn't outright deny what she said; that'd be rude...he didn't think he came anywhere close to 'gorgeous'. Thanks to her though, at least he didn't think he was too freakishly ugly anymore]
[he looked back down at the water too, though his tail snuck over behind Faye and the tip ran along the outside of her right leg. He wondered if she would find that flirty or just get tickled by it]
no subject
Hmm...maybe I'm doing both.
*At which she gave him a slow and obvious wink. Then Faye looked down at the water too, but gave a shudder and a giggle when she felt his tail against her leg. It tickled, but she wondered if he was being a bit of a tease, and she nudged her hip against his, while pretending to be preoccupied with the water*
no subject
Hey...it looks like they're leaving..?
no subject
They must be finished whatever it was they were doing.
no subject
[He vaulted over the railing and into the water. Luckily this time the water didn't erupt into turbulence and blood... she'd see him swim around a bit under the ship but nothing dramatic. Still though, he seemed to take a bit more time than would be necessary to simply look at the hull. He finally returned, jumping out of the water and hauling himself over the railing like usual. He was carrying something]
[He walked over to Faye, holding up what was in his hand... it looked like a bunch of strings of pearls] look at this! I guess they were peaceful after all... they even left us pearls! How nice of 'em...
[He took one of the strings in his free hand, bringing it closer to his face to inspect it. When it came to most gems, he couldn't tell the difference between a real or a fake one... but pearls were the one variety he did know about since he'd found some and gotten them appraised in the past]
Looks like they're the real deal, too.
no subject
When he finally was back on the deck, the sight of him straight out the water with hands full of pearls was a rather welcome one that made her smile considerably*
They were swimming around just to leave us pearls?
*Faye's wide eyes looked at Thash first before inspecting the pearls, standing close to him so that she could get a good look at them*
They must be... They're beautiful.

action;
They're probably hiding something. Can't you swim faster to corner them?
Re: action;
Re: action;
The ship's trashed anyway. The last thing we need is anyone else trying to sabotage us.
Re: action;
[he looked back down in the water] they won't let me near them but in about ten minutes I'm going to dive in again to check the ship just to make sure they're not damaging it.
action;
...if you can figure anything out about them, even a quick description from what you see down there, let me know! I'd like to catalogue it for later.
Re: action;
[he nodded a bit] alright... They're fast but if I see one clearly I'll let you know what it looked like.
action;
Just let me know what you find out. I'll leave mines down there if I have to.
Re: action;
[if he found out there were damaging the ship somehow he was more than willing to fight them off himself, which would be much faster than mines. But still, mines could be practical if they turned out to be a chronic threat or something]
