[voice to all/action for bloody roses] backdated to 27 July 2014
[the sounds of waves gently lapping against the side of a ship can be heard for a few seconds before a slightly concerned voice can be heard]
hey.... There's people in the water. I dunno if they're a threat or not. They swim away when I try to confront 'em...then as soon as I get back i
on the ship, they come back! What the heck....
[he doesn't sound too happy about their presence, but doesn't know what to do about it. He almost wants to attack them but they don't seem to be doing any harm]
Anybody know what's up with this? Has it happened before to those of you that have been here a while?

[he was leaning on the railing with his forearms but his eyes drifted from the water over to Faye, his tail swaying back and forth behind him slowly. The gesture looked vaguely playful]
no subject
Yes, I think it must be. They're shy of how utterly gorgeous you are.
*Then her expression became much more flirtatious as she winked and looked back into the water, watching the sea people moving around*
no subject
[though he wouldn't outright deny what she said; that'd be rude...he didn't think he came anywhere close to 'gorgeous'. Thanks to her though, at least he didn't think he was too freakishly ugly anymore]
[he looked back down at the water too, though his tail snuck over behind Faye and the tip ran along the outside of her right leg. He wondered if she would find that flirty or just get tickled by it]
no subject
Hmm...maybe I'm doing both.
*At which she gave him a slow and obvious wink. Then Faye looked down at the water too, but gave a shudder and a giggle when she felt his tail against her leg. It tickled, but she wondered if he was being a bit of a tease, and she nudged her hip against his, while pretending to be preoccupied with the water*
no subject
Hey...it looks like they're leaving..?
no subject
They must be finished whatever it was they were doing.

[He vaulted over the railing and into the water. Luckily this time the water didn't erupt into turbulence and blood... she'd see him swim around a bit under the ship but nothing dramatic. Still though, he seemed to take a bit more time than would be necessary to simply look at the hull. He finally returned, jumping out of the water and hauling himself over the railing like usual. He was carrying something]
[He walked over to Faye, holding up what was in his hand... it looked like a bunch of strings of pearls] look at this! I guess they were peaceful after all... they even left us pearls! How nice of 'em...
[He took one of the strings in his free hand, bringing it closer to his face to inspect it. When it came to most gems, he couldn't tell the difference between a real or a fake one... but pearls were the one variety he did know about since he'd found some and gotten them appraised in the past]
Looks like they're the real deal, too.
no subject
When he finally was back on the deck, the sight of him straight out the water with hands full of pearls was a rather welcome one that made her smile considerably*
They were swimming around just to leave us pearls?
*Faye's wide eyes looked at Thash first before inspecting the pearls, standing close to him so that she could get a good look at them*
They must be... They're beautiful.
no subject
I guess I'll have to hand these over to Bonnie, but first... you want to check them out, right? [He might not know a ton about women in general but he knew they usually likes pearls, and from previous conversations he knew Faye was no exception to this rule. She'd probably enjoy the chance to hold a bunch of real pearl strings right? So he handed them to her]
no subject
*She glanced back at him when he mentioned giving the pearls to Bonnie, but then she gratefully took them from him. Faye inspected them carefully, holding them gently in her hands, then round her wrist, and up at her neck. Finally, though, Faye held them back out to him*
Yeah, we'll make a pretty penny with these. Enough to keep a good supply of sweet treats on the boat for a long time.
no subject
[Most of them weren't perfectly round or impressively large, so they weren't the best jewelry pearls Thash had ever seen, but some of the rounder nicer ones could probably be used for earrings or enough could be picked out to make a bracelet or something]
Yeah, we're still out of sweet stuff, huh? Must be driving you crazy. What about that sap you said was in that bucket though? You still have some of that right? [He'd seen a good amount of it in there last time he'd checked]
no subject
*Because they were beautiful, but she'd have to work out with Bonnie if she'd be able to keep some of the nicer ones*
I have plenty. Wanna come have a sweet drink with me?

*Faye leaned against the table in the galley as Thash got the glasses for them. She was happy to watch him get things ready, and she was also looking forward to a drink*
From a tree on that cloud island. Akira helped me with it, and he drank plenty too. Straight from the tree.
*Though she said it casually enough, she'd hoped mentioning Akira might help persuade Thash to think that drinking the stuff would be perfectly fine*
no subject
What would you say it tastes like? [He lifted the bucket to pour some into the cups, noting that it looked a little thicker and stickier than some regular liquid]
no subject
It's not so bad, honest.
*She tilted her head as she watched him pour the sap into the glasses, and tried to think of a way to explain it*
Hmm... You know, I'm not sure. We couldn't really decide what it tastes like. It doesn't taste like anything Akira or I had ever had.
no subject
[He sat sat next to Faye and took his glass, giving the substance in it a sniff like usual before trying a little sip. At first, he made a face, not liking the texture of the stuff or its initial strange taste. But after a moment the expression faded and he gave a small nod]
Hm. It's kinda weird at first, but then it's not so bad. Can't say I care for the stickiness but eh... it's not terrible.
[He drank a little more]
You're right, it's not really like any other taste
no subject
Mmm, no. But it tastes okay, and it feels okay.
*She smiled at him as she took another sip*
You're getting pretty good at this idea of trying new things...
no subject
Well... there's a lot of stuff I haven't tried, being pretty much a hermit most of my life. I've always like exploring new places, and I guess that includes trying new things...
[certain things, anyway. It's not like he'd try anything, especially if it was something he had a moral objection to or if it just made him feel sick being near it, like cigars for example]
So far I've liked almost every new thing I've tried so I don't intend to stop anytime soon, heh.
[Although he didn't consciously notice it, it seemed like the more of the sap he sipped, the tastier it got and the more he wanted to drink it]
no subject
*Already, as when she was drinking the stuff with Akira, Faye was finding that she was enjoying the effects quite quickly. She'd be chattier than usual, perhaps, and giggly too*
Here's to trying new things.
*Leaning closer to Thash, Faye lifted her glass towards his in a toast*
no subject
Wow is it me or does this stuff get better and better? [He spoke rather loudly] hahah...
no subject
Why don't we wind down with our drinks somewhere more comfortable? Like a bed. Mine or yours?
no subject
[He stood up, knocking over his stool in the process] oh, whoops! hahaha...[He bent over to set it back up, having to try twice before getting it right. He didn't get frustrated though, just laughing at himself. Then he'd grab his glass... luckily he drank some of it before following her because if he tried to walk with that full glass he'd probably spill it all over. He managed to follow her out of the galley without tripping or anything]
no subject
Come on, you, before you hurt somebody!
*She said it in good humour, grabbing his free hand as she lead the way to her room. Once there she put her drink down beside her bed before flopping onto it and stretching out on her back*
Mmm... this is much safer.
no subject
Yeah and it's comfier in here...
