What do you guys do when you start to miss home? Or... worry about the people and the responsibilities you left behind, even though everything is supposed to be all right?

[Everyone's in the same situation, so Korra doesn't feel so weird admitting that she's missing home. She's lucky, she realizes, that she has friends that she made both at home and here to keep her company. But still...

It's not home.]

Punch something. Several times or until it's destroyed, whatever happens first. And then I move on and throw it all to the back until there's something about it that I can actually do. You'll end driving yourself mad and killed otherwise.

Can't you just punch things without bending some element? Or bending water instead of fire?

[A sigh.]

I know the feeling. I'm used to not be with the people I have a duty for, but usually it's on my own terms and I'm capable of checking on them with my Cosmo. Can't you just distract yourself with the friends from there that are here?

[He honestly has no idea if that would serve for anything or make matters worse.]

Then come punch me if you want. Fire and punches never bothered me anyway.

[It's a serious offer as well. Serious and very real, though he doubts many people here would really get it, because apparently offering yourself to help someone release pent up stress is crazy.]

This is just an idea, but what about asking that store clerk? She often has all kinds of rare things, maybe she can get her hands on something magical that would allow you to see them, even if you can't talk to them. Or even just a picture, it's obviously not the same thing but right now you have nothing like that, right?

If you want it can be a spar, yes. Or I can just stand there as you swing punches at me, either is fine.

[He also has a lot of stress to release, but he's way too used to keeping it bottled. Even if this world likes to test how much he can hold. And right now, he's focusing on Korra so he doesn't care about his own.]

I'll hope that she can indeed. It's that or you getting sucked by a whirlpool again and if that were to happen it would better not spit you back here again then.

[There is a pause before he hurriedly adds something, fearing that she may take his words in a different way than they were meant.]

Not that I don't want you around or anything, it's just that if you're going to be taken home I think it's better if you're allowed to stay where you belong.

Okay.

[He doesn't add "I'll wait" or anything to that because, well, there's not much else he has to do at the moment and he assumes it's implied. He will be at the deck for a long while anyway, whether she comes or not.]

Yeah, I don't think you would like to leave people behind, unfortunately I doubt that chaining all us to each other would work if one was to be sucked by one of those whirlpools. Other than to get us to risk drowning.

[Because most surely those whirlpool things have a way to only suck the person they want or to only make said person disappear.]

[He knows Namur went around throwing people overboard, or threatening to, in order to see who floated and who didn't. But he doesn't consider it related.]

Let's just hope that the shards work as it's claimed and that we aren't left with that option as a way to return.

((Totally cool!))

Even if it doesn't work to get home, the shards' power is obvious. Maybe we could use that to get to Davy Jones and convince him to let us go.

((It's ok! I understand.))

I'm starting to hope that he is some sort of giant or something, because if not the line to roughing him up until he sends us back is going to be too damned long. If he was a giant and we knocked him down we could all just take a spot and do it all at the same time.

That depends on what your definition of fun is and the reason you had for fighting them. I've fought gods before and Davy Jones seems to have enough power to rival them at the very least, so even if he was human sized it probably wouldn't be fun for most.

All the better, don't you think? Then we all for sure will get a chance to hurt him one way or the other.

Then again, if he's the one who takes and sends us back home, he could very well just send us back if we tried to attack him.

[Fastest way back home ever.]

I don't think anyone would be. I wouldn't mind it for once if it got us back home.
