Since yesterday was Mother's Day, I've been wondering how many of you are mothers? All family is important. At least, I think so. But mothers...

[Considering she has lost her mother, Haruhi feels a lot of things about the day.]

It's special, isn't it? Not that being a father is easy. [She knows that from watching her Dad struggle all of these years.] But it's not Father's Day.

So...

Tell me about your mothers. And if you are a mother, I hope you're close to your children. Nothing can replace that bond.

[Uh oh, getting too serious again.]

Anyway, I know it's a little late, but let's celebrate.

I'm sorry you lost her. [She knows that pain all too well.] All you can do is make sure she's proud of you.

And I'm sure she is.

[She nods slightly to herself. She would like to believe that and honestly, she did.]

I know she is, after all most of what I do is because of her. She taught me a lot and I carry that with me. Besides, while I maybe sad and miss her a lot, I learnt that even if they are gone, they are always in our hearts and our memories.

You're right. As long as we remember them, they haven't really left us. [Even if it gets lonely.] I'm not really someone who believes in superstitions, but I do believe my Mom watches me everyday.

I see I'm not the only one who thinks that then.

No, you're not. We keep a shrine at home to her too.

A shrine, huh? I never did that myself. I mean I kept pictures and holograms and I would visit her grave often, but never a shrine.

Holograms? It's...common...in my culture for people to keep shrines for the loved ones they've lost.

Yeah. I guess in my world it's a thing that exists.

Hmm, maybe I should consider something like that when and if I get home.
