Pirates or no pirates, I won't let this stand.

I will fight alongside anyone who wishes to bring an end to what is affecting these people.

This is an act of cowardice, and I cannot allow it to continue.

[Voice // Locked to the Triton’s Mistress Crew and Guests / excluding Elissa]

There has been a lot of talk of people acting oddly. I wondered... Have any of you noticed anything peculiar with Elissa lately?

If it is just myself she doesn’t wish to speak to I could understand.

[What with recent events maybe he had created an awkward situation... ]

Has she seemed withdrawn or more peevish than usual with anyone else?

I think I understand how I came to be here. [There isn't much inflection in her voice.] Does anyone know about the Ouran Host Club? Or anyone named Tamaki?

[She isn't going to take out her anger on anyone but him. Surely this is his doing. He really went too far this time!]

My name is Haruhi Fujioka. I'm in Class 1-A and -

I just need directions. [A map would be wonderful!] Thank you very much.

[Now onto a part meant for only Tamaki's ears, though she has no clue how to make it private.]

Dad, I'm going to rebel.

[There's a hint of amusement in the tone of the man speaking up, coupled by the thrum of a bar's inhabitants. Though, if one's used to bars, they could tell right away that this sort of thrum is paranoid. No one's speaking up loudly. Glasses aren't hitting their tables with the same enthusiasm. Just the same as everyone on the journal, the people on Empieza are exceptionally tense in their own way.]

I must admit, one doesn't usually associate pirates with magical notebooks. Mostly just those big name crimes: pillaging, murder and rape. So--Is there anyone using this journal who isn't an eccentric, magic pirate?

Not that I'm assuming I'll get an honest answer, but I'll applaud any and all efforts.

Voice

[After a rather interesting run-in with a certain witch, Chandra decides that perhaps it's time to actually use the stupid book. Not that she'd have waited too terribly long, because hell, the idea of a magic notebook is actually somewhat intriguing.

When she speaks into the recorder, there's an odd bubbling sound, and her voice is modulated strangely at first.]

Right, so. I guess this thing works. If it doesn't then I'm talking at a book like a moron.

First of all, I'm new here. My name's Chandra and apparently I'm stuck here like the rest of you. That's...a pretty new experience for me, to be completely honest and I'm not sure how to take it. But then, what can you do.

With that in mind, I guess the normal thing to do seems to be finding some people to sail with and find this weird gem, and I guess that's the next order of business. I'm a Task Mage by trade, meaning that I do all sorts of odd jobs and I often do them with magic. Hire me on and you'll have artillery without compare. I've never found a ship, door, wall, or bad guy I can't take care of, or a mountain I can't craterize. [She pauses, laughing cheerily.] And my favorite way to destroy something is utterly, so...if you've got problems just point me at 'em and stand clear and they won't be problems anymore.

Also, I've been on a ship a few times, enough to know my way around but not enough to get into any real trouble...and if it's physical stuff you need done I'm pretty good for that too. And if I can't? One of my little buddies can take care of it. And if that's not enough, I'm also young, hot, and full of stories. Some of them not fit for children.

[She lets out a little cackle, and the modulation in her voice stops, her tone getting a little bit more serious too.]

Also, that witch that was talking about sending people home? That's a bust. Ignore her. She's just trying to steal energy or something. I destroyed the construct she's using, but I figure it'll be back later on tonight or tomorrow. Also, do yourself a favor and steer clear of the plaza for an hour or two.

Oh, and if you don't like talking over these journal things? I'll be at the bar.

Action:

[And as promised, she can be found at said bar, and never without a drink in hand.]

[Sob sob.

For the first few seconds, the sound of crying and tears hitting the pages of the journal can be heard, until a soft shaken-up voice emerges, sounding as if she's just barely holding on without completely breaking down.]

E...Excuse me... [The girl breathes softly, trying to compose herself.]

I'm lost and I don't know what to do... this is really scary...

[Go to an inn? Wander around? No...]

Is... is there anyone willing to take me in? I'll be good, I promise! Grandmother always taught me to be a courteous guest... [Another few sobs, aaaaaaand she's good.]

[Without any warning or provocation a voice sounded over the journals. The most notable aspect of this broadcast was the rich Scottish accent that accompanied it.]

I want some answers, and I want them now.

[The irritation was evident in the way the words were emphasized. Despite the brief message from someone going by the name Scurvey Dog, Scrooge McDuck was not satisfied. The magical journal wasn't the most unfathomable part of this scenario. His inventor, Gyro Gearloose, could have concocted something like this... and if it actually was magic, well he'd run into enough of that within his life too.]

I demand to speak to the man in charge..............

[There was a slight pause in words, but he had one more thing to say before he was finished.]

Jones has some nerve kidnaping Scrooge McDuck. He obviously doesn’t know who he’s dealing with. Time is money, and I don’t have any time to waste. Now where is this blaggard?

Gakupo Kamui
[As he looks around the Town Square in confusion, Gakupo can't help but think...]

I don't remember there being a music video for this time period in the schedule. [He crosses his arms, trying to go through his schedule saved in his memory bank.] We did this ages ago, anyway!

[The only video he really disliked doing...]

And where are the costumes? [He looks down at his own clothing, knowing that he stuck out.] I hope I don't have to buy one with my own money.

And where did this journal come from? [He currently has it open, unaware of it recording all his words, leafing through the pages and finding it already filled with so much.] It's such a primitive way of keeping notes. Doesn't anyone have a smartphone or tablet? [He continues turning the page before he suddenly stops at this handy entry.]

....oh...oh dear...

That is all....

Anise Tatlin
10 January 2014 @ 08:16 pm
[Anise had been through some pretty weird stuff lately, but waking up in a completely unfamiliar place all alone might just take the cake. The island isn't anything like the places she's been to either, and she's been to quite a few. Her first instinct is to try buddy up with the locals, but when all the answers she get are annoyingly vague, she finally turns her attention to the weird journal she has with her. A quick trip to the fountain later, she's marginally less confused, but all her earlier questions are replaced with new ones.]

[She does take a moment to keep flicking through the journal though as she tries to work out how to use it. Huh, seems like there are plenty of new arrivals like her. She better introduce herself and find a crew too! Especially if it meant she'll be able to find that ruby by doing so.]

Hey everyone! My name's Anise Tatlin, and I just got here! [Now, should she play for sympathy or boast about her own skills? Maybe both.] It's pretty scary being here all by myself, so it'd be great if someone can let me join their crew! I'm a really quick learner and I'm great at finding treasure!

[And...one last thing that's been bothering her. She assumes a thoughtful pose.] There's a bunch of weird-looking entries on the journal. Does this kind of thing happen a lot around here?

Action;
[A new place! Anise spends most of her time exploring, first trying to find a way to get home, then slowly growing enchanted with her new surroundings. She rummages through the Backwater Brig and the market, and tries to talk her way into a tavern or two. Maybe this will finally be her chance to try some alcohol...!]

Henry
10 January 2014 @ 09:00 pm
[The first part of the message is just meant for the Shepherds, but Henry doesn't bother to make it private. Mostly because he's still a little too dizzy to remember how to do that again.]

So, uh... One of our doors is broken now. It's the one to Alice's room, specifically. I figured I should let someone know, because I'm pretty sure we should get that fixed!

We'll need to get new wood though, because my blood is on a few parts of it.

And also a piece of it is kind of lodged in my arm. So I don't think we can use that anymore.

[Should he have mentioned that part first? Oh well.]

I really hope that this curse or whatever ends soon! It's not nearly as much fun as the previous ones.

Ace D. Portgas
10 January 2014 @ 11:24 pm
[Ace's post begins with a number of screaming pleas. They're cut off in an instant and bodies are heard hitting the ground, one rapidly after the other. Beyond that, a set of slow foot-steps permeates past that noise. It all stops--just as the sound of an anchor being towed up from the water follows.]

I'm tired of making you bow. [Another man fell--and then another.]

Those of you who can still stand. Raise your sails and turn the helm 45 degrees clockwise. To Aeolipile.

Please! We don't want to go there! There's madmen, there! The Sea Witch is--Ungh!

[Another man hit the floor at that--presumably the one crying out to Ace.]

You have my apologies. Next time, just remember--I'm never going to ask you questions. I'm only going to be issuing commands.

[At that, Ace's journal ceased sending over his voice.]

-

[TEXT - PRIVATE TO THE SPADES]

Pack everything up and run. If you don't run in time, then don't let me reach the shore.

Namur
[Not long after Thatch's orders go out, Namur's voice comes through the journals too.]

Moon crew y' ain't got 'til noon! We're headin' out in a couple a hours! If y' ain't done here, tough shit! Lollygaggers get slung off the side a the ship an' used as seaking bait for makin' me chase y' down! Better see all yer pretty li'l faces on deck gettin' her ready t' set sail by the time I'm finished yellin' at this shitty book, understood? Good! Now get movin'!

It sounds like the chaos is beginning...

Captain, should we be ready to take on those needing to flee their own ships? It sounds as if it may be a reality for some.

I'd say "stay safe" to what friends I have beyond my crew out there... but there's no point in telling you what you already know. But those whom I fought alongside at the Battle of Isla Empezia were not weak or cowardly. I expect this to remain true.
