Rise Kujikawa (久慈川 りせ)

[Things were a little less hectic after a few days in this strange world, and she was definitely convinced that the situation here was less (immediately) dangerous and more cooperative than the last time she woke up in the real world. Thus, Rise finally feels comfortable sitting down and opening up her journal to speak her own mind into.]

Hello! My name is Rise Kujikawa and I'm new here and still sort of learning the ropes. That's a sailing term, right?

Ah, anyway, I was hoping some of you who are out on ships might be able to tell me what you've found out there so far. Has anyone found any pieces of the gem thingy we're supposed to be collecting? I think I have a position on a crew lined up and I'd like to have an idea of where to go or where not to go to find that stuff.

Hm...I probably shouldn't fill this up with personal information or anything, but as I said, my name's Rise, and I'm a high school student from Japan. I also know a few things about singing, acting, and dancing if anyone knows of any open positions for that, but I'm probably going to be sticking to learning how to sail for now. Oh, and tofu! Ask me anything about tofu. You know how to reach me.

It had come to my attention that the ship I am serving (Antoinette by name) lacks a proper cook. If a new arrival or a previous arrival who now finds themselves without a ship or seeking a change has skill in that area, I ask that you consider serving under Celes Ludenberg and with the crew of Antoinette.

I can promise good supplies and a grateful crew. The captain would prefer to hire based on proven skill rather than unfounded claims, so if you would like to be considered for the position, you will be expected to prepare a meal using the stores of the Antoinette in her galley.

I hope to hear from interested parties soon.

[Where.... Where was she? This was no forest and so many Beorcs were around. The journal can be heard, full of bird chirps and coos coming from Leanne as she was trying to call out anyone else that was a fellow bird Laguez.

Though finally, after a long sessions of the bird chirping and cooing, she finally goes to speak.]

Where?.... Where is my forest? Why is there so many Beorcs here? Where is my home? Why are the woods so quiet? ..... Someone please help me find my forest again.

Chiaki Nanami || 七海 千秋
[ Here, have yet another audio entry from another female newcomer to your lovely sea. Despite what you'd think, however, she's rather...calm? If she's nervous, it certainly doesn't show in her voice. ]

Hello, everyone. I do hope I'm using this correctly. My name is Chiaki Nanami, and I... Mm, I was originally on an island with other Hope's Peak Academy students. Please send me a private message if that means anything to you. I'd really, really appreciate it.

[ Now that that bit of important business is out of the way, time to move on to the next thing on the to-do list. ]

As for why we were brought here...I understand what's expected of us. ...I think. We're supposed to put together that broken gem, right? And to do that, we need to sail around the ocean to find its shards. Just like collecting Power Stars. Enough of them, and we can move on to the next level.

[ That thought makes her pause for a moment. ]

...I wonder if they're actually shards? Like, could they be embedded somewhere? There are games where animals were corrupted by a shard of such a gem, turning them against the party. That...wouldn't be pleasant. I hope that's not the case.

[ ...Right, to-do list. She clears her throat once before continuing. ]

I'm going to add to the number of people asking if they can join a ship's crew. I don't have any experience on ships, but I can draw maps and keeps detailed logs and records as necessary. I also know how to clean rooms and search areas thoroughly. And...I'll leave at that for now, since this is getting rather long. Please feel free to contact me for more information.

[ And with that said, she closes the journal. ]

[He'd be damned if he started speaking to a bloody book at this rate. He was already feeling crazy enough as it was. Instead, he;d managed to procure a quill and ink and was now scribbling in the page of the journal, not far from the fountain where he'd woken up not all that long ago. His rum was long gone, leaving him querulous and with a furious headache that blackened his mood even further.]

I'm having a hard time believing that I am once more trapped in Davy Jones' Locker again. The last time I was there, it was by far less hospitable and populated than this place is. I doubt Will Turner has done much in such a short time to turn it around either.

[He trails off writing for a moment, and a small blotch of ink shows evidence of his thinking before he starts up again.]

I haven't seen the Pearl nor heard tell of her being here, so I can only assume she did not end up here again and I don't see myself getting out of this mess without Jack.

[Have a very confused young woman, and it shows through her voice.]

I don't...I don't understand. How did I get here? [Pause.] Where is here? I had a message from someone named Scurvy Dog who said this is an island and...

[She sighs, and there is a faint scratching sound. Her voice changes, and she asks brightly]

I wonder if I can take this thing apart and figure out how it works...?

My, we seem to have quite a number of new faces around. This must all be a lot to swallow, but perhaps you might have room for one more little mystery?

[Jade sounds cheerful, and utterly unconcerned by the noise in the background. It sounds like thuds, clicking of insects and... are those screams?]

We found a library on the island called Manila. Sadly the, ah, owners are a touch reluctant to part with their books, but thanks to my dear crew-mates' negotiation skills, I did manage to get my hands on one copy.

[The shouts in the background grow more distinctive ("GET THEM OFF GET THEM OFF GET THEM OFF" "How are they getting bigger?!" "JADE, GET BACK HERE")]

This appears to be a genealogy of an old kingdom -- and judging by the volume of the book, it was a long-lived one at that. Most of the contents won't help us much without anything to cross-reference with, unfortunately, but there is one interesting bit at the very end.

[Jade clears his throat ("Get down!" "Yeeeooouch, c-cold!" "I'm sorry, I had to-- ACK!" "It's on my face") and reads out loud:]

"Ludovicus Marchineus Lockpost IV- Founder of the Tenstair Excavation Company, discovered the Heart of the Sea."

Now, this could mean anything at this point, but it does make you wonder, doesn't it? Why does the record end with this particular entry, and what is "the Heart of the Sea"...? Perhaps you are even thinking of the same thing I am.

[("Colbat, use Confuse Ray!" "Get your ugly bat away from me!" "Stop complaining and run!" "Sheba, now!") There is a sound of paper rustling in the wind, then running footsteps and shrieks coming closer.]

Ah, looks like my crew is ready to depart. Until next time~!
