[Rise takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. She hasn't really done something like this in almost a year - not after she first dropped the "Risette" character in disgust - but she'd resolved to be comfortable with every part of herself, and that included the flirty idol persona. Besides, she needed to get Captain Motochika on the road so she could go find Senpai.]

[She opens her book and takes a deep breath again.]

Good afternoon, everybody! This is Rise again, speaking on behalf of Captain Motochika Chōsokabe - the pirate, not the samurai - and his crew! For just a few more hours we're recruiting sailors for a venture out of Isla Empieza to go and find those crystal shards.

"So's everybody," you say, and I guess that's true, but Captain Motochika (pirate) is a rarity among us, a genuinely experienced captain of the waves, with the skills of a sailor, warrior, and explorer that we need in a ship's captain in this strange place. How can you do better for a captain than an honest-to-goodness anchor-swinging pirate, hm~? I bet you can't.

Of course, on the opposite end of the crew, there's little old me, just a humble sixteen-year-old girl trying to make her way in the world. I don't have a lot of skills or experience outside of singing, acting, magical treasure-finding and monster-avoiding skills, and the knowledge of gourmet dishes that convinced the good Captain Motochika (pirate) to bring me on as the ship's cook, but I can guarantee I'll try my best! I'd especially like to join up with any experienced sailors who can show me the ropes - I'd be really appreciative, in fact~

So if you're a good sailor or fighter who wants to work with one of the most experienced captains among us, or would like to give a hand to a girl who's a little lost in return for good cooking and maybe a song and some help finding your heart's desire, please come meet us at the docks this evening. You can't miss us!

[She closes the book and sighs. At least she didn't have to wear a bikini for that.]

[ Here, have yet another audio entry from another female newcomer to your lovely sea. Despite what you'd think, however, she's rather...calm? If she's nervous, it certainly doesn't show in her voice. ]

Hello, everyone. I do hope I'm using this correctly. My name is Chiaki Nanami, and I... Mm, I was originally on an island with other Hope's Peak Academy students. Please send me a private message if that means anything to you. I'd really, really appreciate it.

[ Now that that bit of important business is out of the way, time to move on to the next thing on the to-do list. ]

As for why we were brought here...I understand what's expected of us. ...I think. We're supposed to put together that broken gem, right? And to do that, we need to sail around the ocean to find its shards. Just like collecting Power Stars. Enough of them, and we can move on to the next level.

[ That thought makes her pause for a moment. ]

...I wonder if they're actually shards? Like, could they be embedded somewhere? There are games where animals were corrupted by a shard of such a gem, turning them against the party. That...wouldn't be pleasant. I hope that's not the case.

[ ...Right, to-do list. She clears her throat once before continuing. ]

I'm going to add to the number of people asking if they can join a ship's crew. I don't have any experience on ships, but I can draw maps and keeps detailed logs and records as necessary. I also know how to clean rooms and search areas thoroughly. And...I'll leave at that for now, since this is getting rather long. Please feel free to contact me for more information.

[ And with that said, she closes the journal. ]

[Things were a little less hectic after a few days in this strange world, and she was definitely convinced that the situation here was less (immediately) dangerous and more cooperative than the last time she woke up in the real world. Thus, Rise finally feels comfortable sitting down and opening up her journal to speak her own mind into.]

Hello! My name is Rise Kujikawa and I'm new here and still sort of learning the ropes. That's a sailing term, right?

Ah, anyway, I was hoping some of you who are out on ships might be able to tell me what you've found out there so far. Has anyone found any pieces of the gem thingy we're supposed to be collecting? I think I have a position on a crew lined up and I'd like to have an idea of where to go or where not to go to find that stuff.

Hm...I probably shouldn't fill this up with personal information or anything, but as I said, my name's Rise, and I'm a high school student from Japan. I also know a few things about singing, acting, and dancing if anyone knows of any open positions for that, but I'm probably going to be sticking to learning how to sail for now. Oh, and tofu! Ask me anything about tofu. You know how to reach me.
