[He'd be damned if he started speaking to a bloody book at this rate. He was already feeling crazy enough as it was. Instead, he;d managed to procure a quill and ink and was now scribbling in the page of the journal, not far from the fountain where he'd woken up not all that long ago. His rum was long gone, leaving him querulous and with a furious headache that blackened his mood even further.]
I'm having a hard time believing that I am once more trapped in Davy Jones' Locker again. The last time I was there, it was by far less hospitable and populated than this place is. I doubt Will Turner has done much in such a short time to turn it around either.
[He trails off writing for a moment, and a small blotch of ink shows evidence of his thinking before he starts up again.]
I haven't seen the Pearl nor heard tell of her being here, so I can only assume she did not end up here again and I don't see myself getting out of this mess without Jack.

[voice] Haven't you learned not to write in books that write back? Bad business, that.
But he doesn't say anything at first. After all, there's a lot in the entirety of the Gibbs's rambling little statement that doesn't make much sense, but there's time to chew that over and see where it goes.]
The Pearl's not here, Master Gibbs. Nor be Jack.
[ooc; ignore my misfire whoops]
[voice] But talking to books is just as bad!
He is rather diheartened to hear that neither the Pearl nor Jack are here, but given the number of times that ship has slipped away, it's not all too surprising. Plus Jack being Jack, he'd turn up soon enough, one way or another.]
And it's true then, this be the Locker?
[voice] Better than writing out personal thoughts for all to see.
But then, of course, that leaves how to answer. After all, only a bit of time in this place will reveal that no, it's very much not the Locker at all, so the value of that bit of knowledge is actually...Fairly low.
And he has been, after all, lamenting the state of his current crew, and no one knows sea lore better than Gibbs.
Conundrum, that.
Of course, there's also the fact that anyone can listen, and he's loathe to impart much.]
Nay, Gibbs, not the Locker.
Re: [voice] At least it's only a few careful thoughts this time!
If not the Locker, then where? [There is a very long silence, almost long enough to indicate that he was done talking, but then, softly, his voice pipes up once more, sounding cautious and hesitant.]
I've traveled far and wide and can say now this is the first time I've ever heard o' this place.
[Admitting he doesn't know something is like pulling a tooth. It hurts to actually admit it, but then admitting to not knowing something is by far the fastest way to gaining information.]
[voice] THIS time.
At least, I'm assuming as such, as that's where we first turned up. And consider it your very good luck, Master Gibbs, that we've put into port there once more.
[voice] *grumble* I'll be more cautious in the future then!
[voice] See that you DO.
[voice] I still think more trouble comes from talking than writing!

Aye, I know every part o' a ship and the lore of the waters too... [A slight pause.] Well most waters that is.
voice.
Uh... apparently we all have to take to the sea except I haven't any idea how to sale a ship and neither does the other person with me so we're a bit... stuck.

That'd be right. I know Barbossa well enough. The names Gibbs. Joshamee, Gibbs. He might have mentioned me. [Then again, Gibbs wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't mentioned either as he wasn't one for fame.]

[In other words the kind of situation no sailor in their right mind ever wishes to end up in.]

But he's not going to be rude and just nod and smile. ]
Oh. I see. But you made it out of that all right so it shouldn't be a big deal this time around.
voice
It was Jack who figured it out. Capsized the ship to do it. But that was luck as much as anything else. We almost didn't make it out in time.

Pardon the intrusion, Master Gibbs, but I could not help overhearing your conversation with Captain Barbossa and my fellow crew member H. H is the one who was curious about the Ice Queen Dragon Lady. This is a strange, new place for many of us, so you are not alone, ser.
I look forward to meeting you since you are the first person here who seems familiar with our Captain. I am sure you have many entertaining stories, if you know the likes of him. Mayhap I could buy you a round or two at the tavern in exchange for your insights, Master Gibbs?
[Voice]
Aye I know your captain well enough. I've sailed with him before and there are indeed things I know of him that not many else might know. [This was especially true since they were no longer in their home waters.]
I won't say no to a drink, I haven't a drop o' rum on me and it's given me quite a thirst. But it's only proper that I know the name of the person buying and it seems you already know mine.
[Voice]
Of course, ser. I am Elissa Cousland - currently serving as what passes for a cook on Captain Barbossa's vessel. If you see a lady on this island clad in studded armor of blue leather with a pair of swords upon her back, that will be me. I doubt there are any other Grey Wardens in this place, so mine should be the only such armor around.
[Voice]
'Tis a pleasure to be meeting you then Miss Cousland. I'll keep an eye out for an armed woman, though I am beginning to suspect as I look around, that you are by far not the only one.
[Help, his world is shattering.]
