[He'd be damned if he started speaking to a bloody book at this rate. He was already feeling crazy enough as it was. Instead, he;d managed to procure a quill and ink and was now scribbling in the page of the journal, not far from the fountain where he'd woken up not all that long ago. His rum was long gone, leaving him querulous and with a furious headache that blackened his mood even further.]

I'm having a hard time believing that I am once more trapped in Davy Jones' Locker again. The last time I was there, it was by far less hospitable and populated than this place is. I doubt Will Turner has done much in such a short time to turn it around either.

[He trails off writing for a moment, and a small blotch of ink shows evidence of his thinking before he starts up again.]

I haven't seen the Pearl nor heard tell of her being here, so I can only assume she did not end up here again and I don't see myself getting out of this mess without Jack.

Oh good. Finally.

Uh... apparently we all have to take to the sea except I haven't any idea how to sale a ship and neither does the other person with me so we're a bit... stuck.

Well I can certainly help give you some advice, but I am no master of any ship myself. The first step is finding a ship that'll have you. You sound young enough that a captain might consider you.

I'm usually pretty good about getting along with others but I have a-Er.. someone with me that's not so pleasant.

But you know more than us, and several people have said the navy won't exactly be very friendly if they turn up at the island so we're in a bit of a hurry.

[Navy was it? Some how he doubted that it was the Royal Navy the voice was speaking about.]

You don't have to be pleasant to be taking orders. So long as you can listen and do, that's all that matters on a ship!

[He has after all sailed with both the Royal Navy and with Pirates so, this he knows very well.]

Yeah, he's a pampered git so I really don't see him taking orders well. It's more like asking someone to take on dead weight which is why I was considering getting my own ship.

He'd be lucky not to find a captain that won't use the lash then. But as for you running your own ship, there a lot to be learned in sailing. Can your friend cook do something else that's useful aboard a ship?

Nope. He's already informed me we'd need a chef-though fortunately, I know how to cook so that's not much of a problem. ...And he's not my friend. Someone from my school that thinks he's better than everyone else-but I don't have it in me to just leave him either-stupid git would get himself killed.

[ But they are both wizards, so that's something, isn't it? ]

[Gibbs finds himself nodding in understanding, though that cannot be conveyed through voice alone. He quickly speaks up again, still having to get used to speaking to a bloody book.]

It's good you're looking out for a mate at least, but I'll tell you now most ships won't support a man who can't pull his own weight. Your... friend is better off learning to put his back into it. I can try to put in a word for you if I find meself a ship, but it's about all I can be doing.

Though, I should mention, both of us are wizards though there's a limit to what spells we can use since both of us are still in school.

[He'd dealt with all manner of creatures before from sea gods to undead pirates, but never had he heard much tell of wizards before. This took him back a moment as he squinted once more at the Journal, giving it a small shake before sticking a finger in his ear and giving it a jiggle.]

What be a wizard? It is a word I am not familiar with.

It means I'm capable of doing magic-mostly just intermediate spells though. Nothing too advanced.

[Magic is not something new to him. He's seen enough to know it's real.]

Well then there may be some use for you and if your... companion is like you I don't doubt a ship will take you.

That's lucky. I'll see if I can get him to be a bit more cooperative.

It's in his best interest if he does. You're a good lad to be sticking up for him however. Like I said. I'll put in a good word with you for a ship an crew if I find one meself.
