Hi, everyone.
*At least she doesn't sound so grumpy today, though her voice is somewhat more timid than usual*

I think I upset a lot of people yesterday. I was mean to people who really, really didn't deserve it. So...I wanted to say that I'm really sorry.

But - if everyone was doing opposite stuff yesterday, then, I guess, at least that shows that usually I'm a nice, happy, friendly person, right?

*There's an awkward laugh at her attempts to make light of her situation. She'd been pretty mean to people she hadn't even met, too*

That doesn't make it okay, though. So, again, I'm really sorry, and I hope that people still want to be friends.

*She's just going to leave it at that for now. As for those in her crew, they really shouldn't expect to see her face today, because she won't be showing it anywhere. Staying in her room seems a little safer, for now*

*Either it was what he said, or what he did, maybe both, but when Selphie's eyes meet his, she at once leans in for her own kiss. Her fingers curl around his as she moves closer, her lips firmly finding his, for a good moment long*

[Aya returns the kiss, feeling relieved that he didn't overstep his boundaries. A hand is placed on her shoulder as the kiss continues.]

*The hand on her shoulder encourages her, and she takes a soft breath before wrapping her arms around him, holding herself as close to him as possible. Selphie delivers a kiss not too dissimilar from their kiss on Valentine's Day, only this time she feels much more able to enjoy it, so it's a little more urgent*

[His arms go about her waist, holding her closer. The kiss is a bit more intense than their first one, but perhaps because there isn't confusion. No weird candy. Just honest feelings.

*Selphie does, finally, eventually, lean back slightly from the kiss. Despite how flushed and happy she feels, when she opens her eyes there's an apologetic look, and a hint of fear. She'll have to see his reaction before she feels settled. After all, given her experience of things, it wouldn't be new to her if he frowned, pushed her away, and told her to leave him alone*

[Aya's face is pretty hued, but he's smiling after their kiss. He does notice her apologetic look and makes a curious sound.]

Hmm? Are you alright?

*Selphie sees that smile and immediately her expression brightens. The relief of seeing him smile makes her laugh, and she squeezes him into a tight hug*

[Usually he wouldn't mind the tight hug, but...his wounds. He winces while hugging back as best as he could, but it's light.]

Ah, Selphie? My back.

Oh!

*She immediately lets go and sits back from him, placing her hands firmly on her knees so that she can't cause any more damage*

I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Is it...getting better, though? You're looking after yourself, right?

[Aya nods with a smile.] It's healing well. Not a lot has been happening lately. [He extends a hand to her. She's sitting at a decent space away.]

*Selphie takes his hand and touches his shoulder gently with the other, breathing a small sigh of relief*

I'm glad it's better. And you shouldn't be doing anything right now apart from resting up!

Do that mean I should go? [He came here to talk to her, after all.]

Of course not! You can totally stay as long as you like, help you rest up. It's not like we're gonna be -

*Selphie pauses there, because she would have finished her sentence with 'bouncing on the bed' but she blushes instead as she realises how this sounds*

Well, I mean, you'll just be resting here and hanging out, so that's okay. As your nurse, it's what I would recommend.

As my nurse, huh? [Really, he's glad someone is attentive to him. He had been resting all this time, but it's definitely hard for him to get the wound on his back. Aya gestures with his head behind him.]

Do you think you could check how it's healing for me?

Uh huh! I'm a good nurse, though, right?

*Smiling she nods and moves to sit round behind him*

Have you been able to change the bandage and get it cleaned up okay?

*There's obvious concern in her voice as she curls her fingers under the hem of his shift to lift it up and take a look*

A very good nurse. [If she wasn't, he wouldn't trust her to look at his injury. She could easily stab him there.]

[Aya tries to look behind him but decides to face front and let her do her work.]

Once, but I couldn't clean it. I just changed the bandages. [She could probably tell it's poorly done. Changing bandages on your own back is difficult, and painful.]

Good! I'm glad you think so.

*She frowns at his back as she lifts his shirt further, hoping her small sigh of exasperation didn't sound too harsh*

I need to clean and change this. You know you were supposed to just ask if you needed help.

I got a bit...distracted. [It's not a great excuse, but it's the truth. Especially when everyone wasn't acting like themselves. Aya sighs himself, hearing his own lame excuse.] What do you need me to do?

*Selphie gives a louder sigh this time, because she's not sure what distracted him but it isn't relevant*

This isn't...to do with you not thinking it's important for you to look after yourself, is it?

*She drops the back of his shirt again and moves to stand up from the bed*

I need you to take off your shirt, and when I come back with the stuff, I need you to want to be better for your own sake.

*And she'll head straight out of the room, returning later with the stuff she needs*

[Aya is about to give an answer, but her request to have him shirtless cut him off, and then she left. It leaves Aya a bit...surprised, to say the least. Not wanting to receive more of her ire, Aya does as told. Selphie will find him shirtless with his self-wrapped bandages about his torso.]

*At least when she returns she is smiling, and she settles next to him on the bed, putting the bowl of water and the bandages on a chair in front of them*

Okay. At least your front wounds are looking okay.

*As she leans forward to wet a cloth, she turns round to give him a thorough look, and it's not her fault if her eyes wander over areas that aren't covered in bandages*

[Okay, her smiling is better than getting a scolding. He doesn't notice her looking at anything out of the ordinary during her examination. When she takes a moment longer to give a diagnosis, Aya raises an eyebrow at her. Is there something wrong?]

And the back?

That's... a bit different.

*She moves to sit behind him, carefully cleaning up his wound, then tilts her head at his back*

I'm gonna heal up with a spell again, before I wrap it up. That'll help it heal up much quicker. But... it's probably gonna scar a bit. And -

*Her voice took a lower dip, sounding more irrate again*

And Aya, this is so stupid. I wanna just poke you right in your wound for being such an idiot. You knew fine well you couldn't fix this on your own.

*Selphie takes a small breath and performs a cura spell, but she continues to chatter her way through it, and when she picks up the bandages to wrap him back up*

I thought that maybe since you hadn't called me round that you'd at least found someone else to help you. What were you gonna do? Just lie around and let it stay open? Get infected?

*When she's finished, though, she places the cloth and spare bandages aside, and leans her forehead gently on his shoulderblade*

[As Selphie was cleaning his wound, Aya tenses his muscles in pain. She won't have to poke him now. The spell she casts is cooling, and makes him sigh softly in relief, but it's short lives as he hears her words. He had always been hard on himself, and no one else minded, or bothered to deal with his stubbornness, until now.]

[He did plan to ask her to look at the wounds, but life on the ship was more distracting than he thought, especially with how they weren't acting like themselves. Aya looks to Selphie as best as he could when she leans her head on his shoulder blade. He instead turns and wraps an arm about her.]

I'll be more careful. I promise.

*Probably, Selphie could have got herself much more frustrated with this, but he turns and puts his arm around her and she's pacified, for the moment at least. She sighs softly and allows herself to cuddle in closer. Her arms move around him, hands against his skin but careful not to touch his wounds*

You really have to be... You know, it's okay, to look after yourself. And - it might make you happier too. A bit of self...something. I dunno, just, look after yourself and like yourself more.
