Voice

[slightly backdated to Christmas. One can hear a crinkle of paper as well as the sound of a bottle being placed on a table.]

Does this happen often, mysterious roaming ships mysteriously giving away gifts? Not that I'm complaining, but I'm certainly hoping they weren't expecting me to give this rum back.

The treasure chest filled with coins and jewels made of sweets, however, was something of a terrible tease. I'll admit they're a tad sight better than torn trousers, but I'm hardly satisfied. [aaand her voice has dropped down to a purr at that word] Perhaps I can get some of you to help.

Yeah, I'd say it's pretty abnormal for 'em to be that generous. [There's a grin to Ace's voice, admittedly. Isabela's not the only one drinking.]

Truth be told, whips and chains would've been much more likely. [and potentially useful!]

I don't mind a good tease, as long as I get something solid in the end.

H'oh, but that's less treasure and more practical. Fun, too. [At least, provided one was obsessed with anchors and taming lions.]

And, sadly--I'm no good at teasin'. So, if I gave anythin' away of my own, I don't think I'd be able to do much for the preamble of wearin' you down with words, miss.

Sweets are hardly considered to be treasure - 'though I bet I could sell it if it's rare enough here. And if the rest of the crew don't eat it first.

As for the sweets, I think I'd rather keep a gift like that than part with it.

It's not uncommon for people to exchange gifts on Christmas. Usually it's tales of a man leaving gifts for people in the night. Sailors have like ten different patron saints I think the Santa Nicholas is one of them. Ghost ship thing is new maybe every major holiday involves a ghost ship on this planet.

From the tales I've heard, ghost ships usually involve dead sailors with copious amounts of soul sucking and binding someone to an eternity before the mast and all that.

We have similar stories from my planet. If this was one of those stories you would expect the abandoned ship filled with gifts to vanish when boarded.

Never heard of the place. But it's got a kick to it and doesn't taste like they dropped a rat in it, so it's a plus in my book.
