001 Written Hello

 I've found out this book is connected to all kinds of people, and it's not private to me.

So I should say 'hi' then. My name is Roxas. My best friend is Axel Lea and he's here with me. 

What kind of people are out there? Who are you? Do you like sea salt ice cream?

That's good. Only Axel wanted to be my friend in the Organization. Everyone else wasn't interested and it was fun though, he's a real good friend!

What kind of organization was it?

Organization XIII. It was made up of Nobodies like myself. They wanted to make Kingdom Hearts, but Namine told me later that it's a bad thing and they're bad people.

Yeah, it's never good mixing it up with bad company. So you left?

[heartismyown]

I left before Namine told me. I didn't really know it was a bad thing. I've been with them since I showed up as a Nobody. Xemnas named me. I can't remember why I left.

Sometimes you just have this gut feeling. You can't ask your other friend? Said he was part of that same group, right?

I could ask him, but I'm not sure it's important enough to worry about. All I know is that I'm not with them now. Now they want me dead.

Kind of on the run then, eh? Yeah, that's never a fun situation to be in.

Not anymore. Before I came here I was going to join Sora. Without me, he can't wake up.

Then I just disappear, Riku said.

Yeah, I'm supposed to be a part of him. I'm not supposed to exist. Namine told me.

[Wow, what do you say to that?]

Harsh.

Yeah. I was really mad when she said that. It wasn't very nice. I do exist though.

Can't say I'd blame you. And hey, I guess I wouldn't be writing to you if you didn't exist, huh?

Right! The guy who pushed me in the water said I should have fun now, before I disappear.

Make the most of it. Yeah, that sounds like a plan.

I always have lots of fun with Lea, and this is all pretty fun too. I like being on the boat and I found out I know how to swim.

That's always a good thing to know if you're on a boat.

Well I never went in the water before, but I think Sora knows how to swim. He grew up on an island! So that's how I know. I just kind of...did it when I got pushed overboard.

Huh. What a way to find out. Well, at least you didn't drown.

He said he would have rescued me if I didn't swim. It was really surprising though. It's good, it means when we go to the beach I'll be able to swim.

That's good to know. And I guess that's true. It isn't much of a beach trip if you can't go swimming.

What sorts of things do you like to do? What else do you do on a beach trip? Did you ever have summer vacation? What was that like?

[willwork4sugar]

Me? I like trying new confections, or baking pies. Which reminds me, I should see if we have ingredients for that kind of thing on this ship.

I don't frequent the beach a whole lot- the times I've gone have usually been because we've had to battle out there. That's back home, anyway.
