[ Weiss has been keeping to herself for a few days, really only having spoken with Ruby and Jaune so far.. but this situation has come to a climax. She can't take it anymore. She has to do something! Even if it means acknowledging the other people who may or may not actually be pirates. ]

I'm going to ask you all a question and one of you had better have an answer! Is there anywhere in this place to sleep that isn't full of smelly drunkards? Maybe a place with an ice machine that looks a little more like it's got zero chance of bugs.

[ Weiss's tone is dead serious. She has absolutely no tolerance for this quality of rooming. Bunk beds, dorm rooms? Fine. They're clean, warm, and more than comfortable at the top school for huntresses and hunters. They definitely aren't situated over a noisy bar. The other option was to actually get a ship and she wasn't going to deal with a tiny little dinghy-- that would probably be worse than the room. ]

I know my standards can be a little high sometimes... but there is absolutely no way I'm staying in a place that's not even fit for animals for one more night. [ The last three words are punctuated to emphasize her point. ]

It's hard to argue with that.

[ She was honestly just hoping that opportunities would manifest if she asked for them, though she wasn't horribly optimistic about it. ]

It's still hard to believe that out of all the people who end up here, there aren't any engineers.

From what I understand people have only been arriving for a few months, but the ships are not so bad if you are on a decent one.

I keep hearing the ships are better, but if you get on one you get branded a pirate.

[ That's what she heard anyway. She hasn't actually boarded a ship yet, so technically she's not a pirate. Yet. Right? Weiss absolutely doesn't want to be considered a pirate. ]

I believe the law of this land brands all foreigners as such, so there is little to lose from joining a crew and securing a place for yourself. If you are concerned with immoral actions, you may always join a crew that is of noble aspirations.

They don't even check if you've done something wrong?

[ Well that's just not fair. Someone told her it had to do with unlicensed sailing but she hasn't done that yet, so she figured she was safe! ]

I'm still practicing to be the best teammate possible with my current leader. Joining anyone else's crew might be a little difficult.

It does not appear so, it is quite unfair but there is little that can be done.

You are always free to start your own, however I would advise against it if your knowledge of sea fairing is limited. It is also much harder to take such a rout.

I think this is the first time I wished that faunus from the boat was here. [ He was stowing away on one, he had to have some knowledge about boats. Right? Right. ]

They don't have privateers with the Navy?

I am unsure, but from what I understand those of us who have been brought here are not working with them. But it would seem to work with them would be counter productive to our goals.

If you are concerned with the company you may keep, I can vouch for many good people upon these various ships. At least the one I am aboard has those who seem most noble. Labels are but labels. They mean nothing untill the victor writes history.

How would it be counter productive? Privateers take care of other pirates and other organizations while getting a pass from the Navy. If we got pardoned for anything committed by doing a few favors for the people in power, it'd be a fair way to get out of being labeled as scum-laden riff-raff and it'd open up our actions to go anywhere without interference.

[ She obviously has strong feelings about being associated with pirates in any way. ]

Which crew do you hail from?

I believe it would be counter productive based on what I observed as their behavior. It may take actual correspondence with them to discover what relationships they will tolerate and which they will not.

As for the vessel I currently hail from, that is the Charming Murderess, though the name leaves much to be desired.

Hmm.. [ Maybe.. Weiss is still considering it, but if the Navy is as bad as people say they are.. this could be difficult. She'll let it drop for now. ]

I can't imagine you have an easy time getting new crewmates with a name like that.

So far we have not been lacking at least, though it paints a much different picture of our group than what we actually are.

What sort of group might that be?

A rather mixed bunch, but we seem to be good natured for the most part. There are a lot of children aboard as well....

Children? They count children as pirates too?

They count all on a ship from what I hear... and all who seek the shard that supposedly will lead us to our freedom.

If we're trying to get out of here, shouldn't they want us to find those shards?

I would assume so, but so many details are lacking that I can not say what their reasonings are. It could be due to the individual who seems to be assisting us with tips and information, it could be something else. Either way there are few inicial options.

The individual.. Do you mean that Scurvy Dog character? What would they have to do with how the Navy treats us?

That individual is quite likely related to those who identify as pirates in this world, I know not the details, but such things may lead to our difficulties with that of the navy.

They're awfully prepared to help out us incoming people in such a short period of time.

Which is something to consider when pondering their motives. But That is a mystery to be solved along the way.

I suppose so. That might explain why no one who lives here has exactly been friendly if they had something to do with bringing us here, though.

I assume most the general public find us rather frightening as well.

How do they tell us apart from them if we just get clothing from their time period?

[ Well, a cloak. She's planning a cloak. She doesn't want to wear dirty clothes. ]
