[With the onset of what seems to be an unusual cold snap, Hubert's betting on people being stuck inside with their journals for company and nothing much else to do besides trying to get warm. So he picks up his own journal to issue a plea for help:]

Does anyone know how to get someone's tongue unstuck from a frozen pole?

[The question is punctuated by incoherently dismayed mumblings in the background. Someone coughAsbelcough got bored enough to get himself into a bit of trouble and now Hubert has to figure out how to get him out of it. And so it goes.]

It's all true. When I was a child, someone in our little group of friends tried it. Saphir the Toaster Tongue, we called him.

...Although now that I think about it, I might have been the one to come up with the raisin throwing part. I thought it would be entertaining to see whether he could catch them.

Now now, Hubert. What possible reason would I have to trick him into licking a toaster?

[Besides that little Jade was an even bigger asshole than adult Jade?]

Besides, I didn't lie. He most definitely gained a reputation from doing it.

[Jade merely gives a good-natured chuckle

...though he does then sober up a bit.]

Well, once you've solved Asbel's little mishap, come see me in the Captain's cabin. I need a word with the two of you.

Good. I'll see you there.

[If by "they" you mean all three of them. Because there used to be FIVE of them just moments ago.]
