[Yes, voice is what you get because Shepard is accustomed to dictation software with his omni-tool.]
This is Commander Shepard, Systems Alliance Navy. Considering the crew of the Normandy and I only had enough time to gently interrogate the locals on the main island before we were kindly asked to leave, the location of a friendly port or merchant ship to restock supplies would be appreciated.
I would also like to personally extend my thanks to the person responsible.
[All the fucking sarcasm in the world.]
Shepard out.
[And shortly after there's a little addendum made private to the Normandy crew.]
Not exactly inclined to trust just anyone out there, but I'm sure you've all seen the reports about an impending attack. If there's a chance one of our people will show up behind enemy lines, we should make some plans.
Swimming lessons at noon.

Re: [action]
No. For me it takes a Cerberus black op and four billion credits.
Re: [action]
Seems like a damn waste of credits to me.
Re: [action]
[Just going to kick the base of the main mast and LISTEN TO THAT CREAK because this ship is the waste.]
Any idea if Joker's figured out how to... well, do anything at all with this thing?
Re: [action]
I think we figured out that the anchor makes us stop. That, or crashing.
Re: [action]
[Just... looks at his journal and then back to her.]
Maybe you should make the next request.
Re: [action]
[It's almost a joke, except it really is their only option. That, or finding someone willing to teach them.
That next comment makes her smirk, though.]
Your winning personality does seem to be losing you points. Is this how you united the galaxy, Commander?
Re: [action]
I'm a soldier, not a politician.
Re: [action]
Since when do politicians get anything done?
Re: [action]
Re: [action]
Re: [action]
Actually, we don't have any support at all.
Re: [action]
Re: [action]
[LE SIGH.]
[But in any case, he stays near the main mast and starts to do some work with some of the rigging, and as curiosity gets the better of him, he glances over his shoulder at her.]
So, did you grow up on Earth too?
Re: [action]
We'll figure it out. That, or we'll sink.
[either/or, but she can swim. She's surprised by his question, though.]
I did. You were an orphan, too?
Re: [action]
Got in a helluva lot of trouble too.
[Good times.]
Re: [action]
[she lies, there was trouble all around. Good times indeed.]
Re: [action]
Re: [action]
Re: [action]
Maybe you're not as boring as I thought.
Re: [action]
Wouldn't that technically be insulting yourself?
Re: [action]
Re: [action]
Re: [action]
[with whatever he's been doing with the rigging done, he actually moves towards her and leans against a barrel for a bit.]
[normally he wouldn't be this social with someone he's just met, but there's obviously something different here. he's always been the one closed off, keeping his emotions and inner thoughts to himself for the sake of putting on a strong, confident face for ship morale and the mission.]
[but if you can't be honest with yourself, who can you be honest with?]
Were you on Torfan?
Re: [action]
But then, she's still trying to gauge just who he is, and this seems like a good way to do that.]
I wasn't, although I met Major Kyle later. I didn't exactly get the impression that operation ended well, even though the Alliance won eventually.
[Although she wonders if it would have gone down differently with him there.]
Re: [action]
Damn batarians were dug in pretty deep. It took some pushing, but we flushed them out. Major Kyle was my CO for that mission. It was one of the operations that put my name on the short list for N7. [And the Spectres later on.]
"Butcher of Torfan" they called me. [He doesn't look too impressed with that moniker, so he quickly moves on.] What about you? Any nicknames?
