[ Conan hadn't yet bothered with writing in the journal, deciding that he'd instead wait and merely flip through the pages. When he'd discovered that they could broadcast what was written in them into other journals he was, naturally, intrigued. There had to be a logical explanation for it, after all. ]

[ Finally, he puts his fountain pen to the page and writes. ]

I came across something interesting and I'm wondering how deep it goes. So, I'm going to list a few things, let me know if they are familiar to you:

No. It's one of the top leading financial companies in the country.

My family works with those sorts of companies daily; I've never heard that name.

That is very strange. I assume the company name is also the family name? If so, I don't recognize it. If they're of any prominence in Japan, I should.

Yes, her name is Suzuki Sonoko, and she's the best friend of my caretaker back home.

The name doesn't sound familiar at all.

What about the Suoh Group? Another well-known set of companies. Or the Haninozuka style of combat? Grand Tonnerre?

No, neither ring a bell. How about the mystery novelist Kudou Yuusaku?

I've never heard of him.

He's quite popular, for some reason the world can't get enough of his "Night Baron" series. I'm not impressed. Though, he happens to be the father of my distant relative. It would seem that things we have personal ties too, don't repeat in different worlds.

I will assume the name Shinmei Nintaro is also foreign to you?

Neither of us has a reason to lie to the other and yet your version of Japan is decidedly different than mine, as my version is different than yours.

It's not every day you get kidnapped into a place where there are ghost pirates telling you to look for treasure. I'm afraid I'm a little out of sorts, still.

You have to admit it sounds insane. Then again, everything so far sounds like something out of a manga.

My thoughts exactly, though I'm not one to ignore the truth when it can be proven.

One last thing, was there a terrorist attack on Tokyo Tower in last few months?

Certainly not.

I didn't think so.

For me, they've only just reopened the observation deck.

Interesting that something that significant would be drastically different.

I was there at the time of the attack. [ And it was also decidedly not a terrorist attack but the public didn't know that. ]

So it stands to reason, then, that possibly any large-scale events any of us witnessed, others might not know. I'm a poor subject for that test, though. I can't say I've witnessed anything of that level of importance.

I lived with a detective, it was an everyday occurrence for me.
