Yo-ho, yo-ho and all that piratey bullshit. Getting that aside, how does one volunteer themselves for a crew? I'm already good to go. Not a sailor, but anybody willing to take me will get a hard-working, quick-learning gal looking for a way to get the hell out of here.
Is that enough of a resumé?
Seriously, though. This island is not a place I want to stay. I'm definitely willing to work and I could use some friendly acquaintances or good conversation while I work on getting my bearings. All takers should respond here directly and/or include crude doodles at your own childish discretion.
[ ooc: Please take a look at Misha's permissions, too! ]

If not, though, I'm okay at conversation. Or being an acquaintance.
[Rikka was starting to get into the idea of being welcoming to new people - Mana was better at it in person, typhoon of pink jubilation that she was, but Rikka herself wasn't bad at carrying a conversation.]

Good to know. I'm Misha, by the way.

I'm Rikka. Nice to meet you, Misha.

Pleasure's all mine, Rikka.

You have no experience of sailing at all?

'Surfing the web?' Forgive me, I am unfamiliar with the term; what does it mean?
no subject
It's slang. Nothing to actually do with water, sailing or otherwise the topic of conversation we were on. Have you heard of the internet yet?

[Yeah, it's still really strange to get used to the idea that by many people's standards, Mitsuhide's time is ancient.]
Back home, guns were a recent invention. I have been told this puts me many hundreds of years behind some in this world.

You don't have to actually go with anyone who does that. You know that, right?

You have no lack of company concerning inexperience regarding 'piratey' affairs, I fear. It is an education many of us are gaining together.
Did you have some trade in your own land?

I guess you could say I was an officer of the peace back where I was... [ Yet she doesn't seem all that interested in defending the position of the Navy or even Rikka's crew in the above conversation. Curious. ] It's not really something I was apprenticed to do if that's what you're asking, though. Just kind of filled a spot that was open.

My sympathies. This life may be poorer suited to you than for most.

[While Ikki respects and approves of an "anti-pirate" crew, in their situation it's just plain... Stupid in his opinion. Mostly because whatever they say and do, the Navy will still consider them pirates.]
no subject
[ Who ever said anything like that, Misha? Misha, stop letting your imagination run. ]
Navy's doing what now?
no subject
Are included there people who fancy ripped faces as wall decorations?
[Not that anyone here does it, as far as he knows.]
I don't think any crew would claim to do just that, but if you want nothing to do with that, it's better to steer clear from those who are "willing to do anything". Though I'm sure all crews won't shy on violence if they are attacked first.
Regarding the Navy... For them we're unlicensed people who belong to nowhere, running around their world looking for some treasure rumored to be quite powerful. We're pirates, no matter what we do or what we intent, and they chase us like they chase the other pirate ships of this world.
I wouldn't recommend trying to speak reason with them.

[ There's a pause as she takes that last part in. It sounds hilariously sucky, but there doesn't seem to be much to change it and hell if she doesn't completely understand dumb status quos. ]
How fun. Do we get to lead them on merry chases and have cannon battles?
[ Note: only a very small part of her sounds sincere. ]
no subject
[There's a chuckle at her last comment.]
Yes, while an orchestra plays some stupid tune that gets stuck in your head.
Now, seriously, if you are smart you won't do that. People are inexperienced enough with just sailing, adding sea battles against people who are isn't a good formula.
