Okay, everyone, listen listen! I've been doing some thinking lately and I realized that it would be a good idea to make a list of everyone's birthdays! We're all just getting to know each other and it's not something you think to ask about right away, but then you feel bad when you don't know! Maybe if I make a list here in the journal where everyone can see it, we can all keep track of it and wish each other happy birthday on our special days!

I am unfamiliar with this calendar system, so I am uncertain how to advise you of the day of my birth. According to the calendar of Ferelden, I was born on the fifteenth of Guardian in the year 9:10 Dragon. How many months are in your calendar and how many days do they comprise? My homeland has twelve months of thirty days in length for each year. Guardian is the second month of the year and we celebrate the holiday of Wintersend at the beginning of Guardian.

I have no idea if you shall find any of this helpful, but I found the differences in our way of marking time to be most intriguing.

We have twelve months, too, but seven of them have 31 days, four have 30 days and one has either 28 or 29 days depending on the year. It's kinda weird. Your way is simpler! If your birthday is in the second month and there's a holiday the first day, then it'd be like February 16th! I'll add that in.

Well, see, on the anniversary of the day we were born, people wish us "happy birthday!" and sometimes we have parties with cake and ice cream and presents. Mitsuhide said it was like a day to celebrate that those you care for are alive, and I guess that's true! I think of it as a day to remind people how much you think about them and care about them, since sometimes they forget.

I guess there are people from places that don't celebrate birthdays, though! Some people don't even know theirs.

This is a lovely idea, and I commend it. I only wish I could contribute, but unfortunately at the time of my foaling, nopony could be sure what month it was. The seasons were in entire disarray at the time, and we didn't get them put right until much later.
