The gods know I seriously doubt this world will fall into a repetitive wheel regarding the shit it throws at us. But I suppose it doesn't hurt to be careful and given that I know some people work better with actual warnings than with calls for their common sense...
For all of those who weren't here last year, in case no one has told you. Around those days, last year, we encountered several "ghost ships" while sailing through a thick mist. If that were to happen again, beware of them, those ghosts couldn't be harmed in any way as far as I know, yet if they touched someone they could change them. Or even outright kill them.
Now that I think of it, other than a day in which everyone talked like bad pirate imitations, the ghost ships were the first really strange shit I saw in this world. Not counting islands, of course, those are a whole different category. [Speaking of which...] Anyone knows any other way to destroy an island that doesn't involve burning it? Or at least a way to destroy the plant life there.
[Not that he plans to return just yet, not even to get rid of the flowers. But it never hurts to know.]

[And not because the flowers make people get in heat.]

*She's teasing, because she remembers what he was like when they were trying to dance at the ball - he was good, but he didn't seem to enjoy being too close to anyone*
[voice]
[He notices the teasing, but responds to it with deadpan. Because the situation in general is too delicate to bother with anything else.]

Not that I have any plans to touch anything shrouded in any kind of mist after the past month or so, but just wondering.
[voice]
For now let's say it's speculating, come back in December and we will see. For now, I would say it's possible for it to repeat, even if maybe not in the same way. Last month we had that weird storm that made people act weird and, ironically, last year on the same month there was a huge storm that scattered several crews.
Not that a storm is strange by itself, but the funny thing is that those were worldwide. Never heard of that before by natural causes.
[voice]
December's when I first arrived, so I'd remember that stuff. Ugh, like the cold snap. There better not be another one of those, that sucked.

[Then she gives a small chuckle.]
Want to destroy those flowers that badly? Cannot say that I blame you. [She would actually help.]

[There's a groan at the next part.]
If anyone wants to blame me, they are free to. I will give them a one way ticket to that island so they can enjoy the flowers if they like them that much.
I don't want them gone enough to go back for it... Yet. But it doesn't hurt to have some ideas in case something happens.
[Like Shun appearing in this world. Which he doubts could happen but he can't say either that his brothers are protected against the power that brought him here.]

Hopefully there will never be a need to go back to that island ever again.

[He's not sure if Korra's waterbending includes icebending and even if it did, he wouldn't ask, not as things are yet. He already talked about that with Asami after all.]
Wouldn't the plants return after the cold vanishes, though? Like how spring returns after winter.

And why not burn the vegetation anyway?
voice;
[That's pretty much "be careful" in Ikki's language. Though the tone he uses when he says it almost makes it sound as if he doesn't care.]
As for why not burn it, it's because the main thing to burn are flowers. Annoying flowers that release a special pollen or something that messes up with people, and if you burn them, they will release even more of that pollen like crazy. And spread it around and probably regenerate again sooner or later.
I want something more definitive that won't involve the risk of them reproducing.
voice;
[Said with a measure of amusement.]
Short of sinking that island, I can't imagine anything that would work. But what do you mean, these flowers "mess up with people"?

It didn't end well.

[Actually he kind of wants to ask, because unless he's being an idiot -which could happen- Namur wasn't around last October yet. So he must be talking about some other ghost ship.]
Voice;
[Namur shivers unseen. He's hazy on the details after climbing aboard. All he knows is he definitely for sure died and it was awful.]
Anyway after that I got dumped back at Port Chance, picked up by Thatch then by them damn slavers an' then, well. Y' get the idea.

[There's a humourless chuckle on his part.]
[voice]
If I recall correctly, both Namur and Ace's little brother tried to climb on it after the race.
["Because they're idiots," goes unsaid but obviously implied.]
