REBEL 7 [voice/action for the Katabami]
[Truth to be told, Ragna's sense of time is close to non-existent; so far, he's managed to miss his own birthday, his anniversary of coming to this world, and god knows how many other important dates in-between. Even so, there's a time of the year that burned itself into his mind hard enough for him to remember it. Either that it's some sort of self-preservation instinct kicking in.]
So, uh... Anyone know some kinda place where one could hole up for a week or two? Preferably something with no windows or doors. And reinforced walls. Ones that wouldn't let shit pass through... like... something ethereal, for example...
[ . . . ]
... Y'know, in case of emergencies.
[You're not fooling anyone, Rags.]

[You're not fooling anyone, Rags.]
[Voice]
[For something that's most likely supposed to be a joke, Ragna's response is rather firm. Given the number of times his little brother has tried to murder him, he considers his aversion to the idea of being frozen justified.]
[Voice]
[She laughs softly anyway, not minding his firm answer. Who can blame him? Being frozen is hardly a desirable thing.]
Mind if I ask what kind of ethereal creature may wish to harm you?
[Voice]
[He wouldn't be himself if he didn't include a completely unnecessary threat there.]
... None, I'd hope.
[Voice]
[She's not specifying what she's asking about, though. Her tone is sincerely curious anyway.]
And would this "safe place" you ask about be just from ethereal creatures or from everyone as a whole? In which case the mention about those ethereal beings would be just to show how much protection you require.
[Voice]
The hell are you even talking about...
[Whichever it is, the answer is most likely "no", as literally nothing works out for this guy. Not that he'd openly admit as much.]
It was just an example, dammit. Don't hang on to those... [Sure, he was the one to say it first, but the more those hypothetical "ethereal beings" are discussed, the more uncomfortable he's feeling.] And it's not like I need protection, I just─ wanna know.
[Why is asking for help without asking for help so hard.]
[Voice]
[Or if it's just quite stupid and pointless as it seems at first glance. Not to mention that someone who would be the type to do it would probably take it as a challenge.]
If it's just an example and not an actual worry, then even hiding inside a box would work, wouldn't it? A metal box in order to fill the preference of reinforced walls, of course.
[Voice]
[Honestly, Ragna's not even all that surprised. This isn't the first time he's been asked that, actually.]
Sort of, if people are smart enough to realize I'm not kidding.
[It's a tad bit easier to achieve in his own world, courtesy of his reputation as a murderous rebel, but even then there are dozens of people who ignore it and get involved in his business anyway. Needless to say, it doesn't work at all here.]
... I don't think that'll do.
[And there will be no gratitude for the suggestion, either, of course.]
[Voice]
[And showed himself as not very smart for not being able to realize who may be kidding and who isn't. Quite ironic given his own answer, and annoying as well.]
I see, that's quite unfortunate. I can't really think of anything else, sort of a cave in a mountain which entrance you could block. But I have a feeling that such a thing won't satisfy you, either.
[Voice]
It doesn't help that his sense of humor is limited to being a sardonic asshole, either.]
... Dunno what sorta fairy tale you jumped out of, but in real world it's usually safer to assume people wanna "do you wrong" as you call it than the opposite.
[The Grim Reaper doesn't trust people in general, and if his threats and abrasive behavior keep them at the distance from him, then that's even better.]
Not really.
[He's rarely satisfied, if ever.]
[Voice]
The way I see it, you're just wasting your time by threatening those who would never harm you, as well as boycotting your own chances and safety by giving others reasons to harm you. Not only that, but following your logic, anyone should just attack you on first sight "just in case" you try to harm them.
Or is the pre-emptive route only allowed for you?
[Despite her words and the slight annoyance, Elsa's tone remains calm and polite. Of course she doubts anything will change or come out of it, but she can't just leave without at least pointing out the serious flaw in Ragna's approach to the world. The world doesn't need more excuses to hate people or chase them, but by doing pointless threats he just fuels them.
There's a sigh on her part at his last response.]
Then I'm afraid that I have nothing that could provide you any help in this matter. I'm glad this is just hypothetical, as there's no dire need of it and maybe with time something will come up. Still, I hope someone else has something better to offer, it would be more reassuring, wouldn't it?
