It seems I only ever address the journals with bad news.

[A small sigh. It's to be expected, but he's growing tired of the revolving door that seems to be his crew.]

The Uchiha brothers, Sasuke and Itachi, seem to be gone. This time without explanation.

As for this crew, we are low in numbers and in a bit of a bind now that we are, once again, in a shaky position of leadership. We have always maintained a casual air to our ranks, and that will not be changing for as long as it seems to work.

We do, however, need to discuss the matter of the Corpse King. He is showing his face again, this time with a growing armada, and I am sure many of you have revenge on the mind. Though I too would like to run my blade through his gut, we must keep our heads. This is not a time for reckless decision, and I will not toss you all onto the front lines against both him and the Navy, even if it means the slim chance of obtaining another shard.

Our absolute priority right now, I think, is keeping this crew afloat. I propose that we make way for Empieza for recruiting, as that time is coming up soon again.

Who is the Corpse King? I do not believe I was actually here when things might have happened with him.

The Corpse King took part in a race of crews that was held over the summer. An elite group of fighters from the Sabers staged an offensive against him, and... it was disastrous. At this point, our power is no match for his.

[He pauses for a moment. Okay that doesn't exactly explain why they did that in the first place, but he wasn't that curious about it.]

While power is always a good thing to have, it's always strategies that make the difference, or at least ideas thought out on the spot. [He's.... had a few moments with having to follow an idea on the spot.] Have you thought about how this 'Corspe King' fights?

[He has no idea why they did it, Fai. Sasuke likes violence?]

I have no firsthand experience fighting him. I was never for the attack to begin with, if I am to be completely honest. I believe you would be best to ask Futo about that.

But since two crewmates have gone, do I need to do any other job to make up for it?

I am most interested in the potential of a shard... however I am hesitant to go against that monster without a proper tactic and the right people. At this point I would be more interested in seeing what others may do and coming in when the situation is more to our advantage.

The only advantage that we go into this with is that we already know what tactics he used last time. But even now, you are the only one of us left with firsthand experience.

Watching and listening before doing anything brash will be our best option, for now. I agree.

That would depend. If others seek him out, as I know one who recently was looking for a challenge might, we may be able to utilize the conflict for ourselves. When both sides are weak we should strike.

You mean the other crew as well as the Corpse King?

The crew I've been in contact with about munitions are noncombatants, but they have a background in chemistry that we could use to our advantage. It's possible we could find a way to counteract the poison if we attack the Corpse King again. I don't see an advantage in it, though, unless we have a high probability of killing him.

Even then, would it not require a sample of the poison to figure out how to counteract it?

[This is coming from a Hylian knowledge of remedies, mind you. They drink the red thing to get better, and the blue thing to get much better.]

That would be the most effective way, but there are only so many kinds of poisons. It shouldn't be too difficult to figure out what kinds he uses, even if he does customize them.

If you have a way of doing so, my ears are open. I am afraid my knowledge of such things is... limited at best.

What happened that revenge is even being thought about?

A small group of us recently staged an offensive on the Corpse King.

It ended in the deaths of three of our crew members. We were miserably outmatched.

They returned. I do not understand why or how, but this world does not simply leave us for dead.

But it is still not a risk that I take lightly.

...Unless we recruit a good deal more people, going after that nutter would be completely mad. There's what, eight of us now? Not to mention Sasuke and Itachi were some of our more skilled fighters. I'm not...against it, but we'd better have a damn good escape plan in mind if that's what we plan to do.

I agree that we would be completely mad to try going after him again. Especially at our current numbers.

Yes. Though nobody is suggesting that we fly in blind again like we did last time.
