It seems I only ever address the journals with bad news.

[A small sigh. It's to be expected, but he's growing tired of the revolving door that seems to be his crew.]

The Uchiha brothers, Sasuke and Itachi, seem to be gone. This time without explanation.

As for this crew, we are low in numbers and in a bit of a bind now that we are, once again, in a shaky position of leadership. We have always maintained a casual air to our ranks, and that will not be changing for as long as it seems to work.

We do, however, need to discuss the matter of the Corpse King. He is showing his face again, this time with a growing armada, and I am sure many of you have revenge on the mind. Though I too would like to run my blade through his gut, we must keep our heads. This is not a time for reckless decision, and I will not toss you all onto the front lines against both him and the Navy, even if it means the slim chance of obtaining another shard.

Our absolute priority right now, I think, is keeping this crew afloat. I propose that we make way for Empieza for recruiting, as that time is coming up soon again.

I will be in my quarters, if you would like to speak with me in person.

... I didn't mean to add more upon your shoulders with that statement. -Said as she slipped in, seeing him as he was.- But it was better I was honest.

No, I appreciate your honesty. As I always do.

[He looks up at Tojiko, his voice mild.]

But the fact remains that we do not stand a chance against him, and I will not allow you to throw your life on the line for something that means so little by comparison.

It does not mean so little to me. That man... dishonored Futo.

By comparison, Tojiko. Regardless of what that man has done, it is not worth giving your life.

[Link realizes that he is hypocritical in saying this, but he doesn't care.]

I do not undermine your anger. I simply beg you to mind for your own safety.

If those are your orders, then so be it.

They are. For now. We will take our time and learn. Do things right, this time.

That settles that, however... the issue of captainship. I know you said you were prepared to take the mantle permanently, but... are you really alright with this?

Yes, I am. I have been here a year, now, long enough for me to learn the ways of sailing and maintaining a ship. I have directed soldiers, before.

[He watches her mildly.]

That also means that my previous offer to you still stands, should you choose to take it. Though I will not push you.

I am certainly in a better state now than I am when you first asked... But I'm not sure how well Futo would handle it. She's always considered me her subordinate. -The reality of that not-withstanding.-

[He frowns, slightly.]

Well, I am not asking Futo, I am asking you. I... know you better, to be honest, and I trust you with the job. Not that it is a genuine burden as much as it is a title. I consult you on decisions, anyway.

[He says that last bit with a small smile.]

Well... If it is for you, then it is a title I will accept.

I promise little will change.

[He hopes his tone is reassuring.]

I have already come to trust you with my life, and nothing is kept secret from you.

... I'm not in any hurry to leave. I was about to offer to make you some tea.

[Link raises his eyebrows, though he's clearly pleased at the idea.]
