[Unheard, the crinkle of a newspaper being folded and placed down beside the journal proceeded what was written across the page.]
Refreshing to see democracy in action. I am referring of course to the matter of the Bläckfisk elections. My son is always stomping about proclaiming the virtues of the people’s choice in government. I wonder what he will say now that those of Bläckfisk have done just that.
[With a bit of guidance, naturally.]
Fledging government and all, it is still a tumultuous time for those of Bläckfisk. I would recommend steering clear of the place until things settle. It is the island’s first proper election after all. There are bound to be a few rough patches as they find their way. Best your crews do not get mixed up in them. It would be a shame to hear you had lost a ship by sailing into port during an inopportune moment.
[Open to most but Locked from Elissa and her ‘ex-husband’]
At any point in your travels have you discovered a reputable jeweler? I am certain there are some around I just hadn’t cause to make note of them before. Though I suppose, in a pinch, some bit of plundered treasure might suffice if any of you have happened upon a ring and would be willing to part with it?
[Private to Triton’s Mistress]
To the crew of the Triton’s Mistress,
The business Elissa and I were distracted by has been concluded. Where might we catch up to you? Depending on how we travel, we may be passing by Isla Empieza on our return. Should you require anything we might be able to pick it up for you.

We'll see how long that lasts in a place as unstable as this.

Most seem to foolishly cling to the opposite view even when shown time and again what comes of it. But you do not?
Re: [Voice]
In the end, it's all the same. No matter how much you might have lofty goals, eventually you're going to turn into an asshole, or assholes in your ranks are going to dilute your message. Doesn't matter who point of view you have, it's just being human.

We're just out in the eastern seas without any real destination. Felt like getting a look at the comet Dog mentioned.
So a ring? Things are that serious with her?
private written
Was it worth the journey?
[As for Elissa well... Confession time.]
I nearly asked her once previously, before that folly with the Corpse King, so should the notion strike again I had best be prepared for it.
[Which is why the ring. Yes, its pretty serious. ]
You...
[One uncharacteristically long hesitation later.]
...would not have an idea what to look for in one? Odd to say, never having considered the idea previously I am uncertain what might prove suitable.

You are a lady...
[A question that was awkwardly started.]
What I mean to ask is, maybe you might know what a lady would expect from a ring with such importance?

But unfortunately for you, you fine troublemaker, he is overly familiar with the way things work on that island.]
Yes... and the other part of the price would be a forced march down the aisle before ever having been given the chance to even ask the lady for her consent.

I believe it is important to keep updated on all potential hazards, the political ones as well as the more mystical variety.

You must be the other crew members not with us. At the moment, all I know is that we're out at sea.
I didn't think any government would want our noses in their businesses.

I find corrupt governments rarely welcome outsiders pushing for change.
