006 - audio

[Serenes did her good. The absolute peace and quiet in her mind, well, that went away. But the rest perked Rogue up a bit. Enough that she can, at least, address her fellow kidnap victims about something fairly insignificant.]

So, we're from a lot of different worlds, right? That's what I've noticed at least.

That's got me curious.

What're the "milestone" birthdays where y'all are from?

[This has nothing to do with her own upcoming birthday. Nope. Or with using a fairly benign topic to announce her presence to certain people.]

Like. Where I'm from--

You've got sixteen, which means you can drive.
Eighteen's a big deal, even though, y'know, not much y' really get. I mean, buyin' cigarettes an' votin', but that ain' really a big deal.
Then there's twenty-one, legal drinkin' age.

Anybody else got big ones? 'M just curious 'bout the differences in worlds, y'know?

[For the Spades, she's around. Keeping busy, paying close attention to how to work the sails and everything else. The same pep that was in her step on Serenes is gone, but she's also not completely skulking about like she was after Stela and before that.]

You think he'd teach me, too?

[She didn't have any superpowers, but she wouldn't say no to a chance to listen someone who professionally teaches people to be strong.]

[She already knew. That was a statement Keimi didn't hear often.]

I don't really have any special powers, but I'd love to hear what he could tell me.

Really? They're pretty common back home. It's how all merfolk get around outside of water.

[Though she uses military-grade bubbles when fighting, and her application of them has been a bit... creative, lately.]
seakingbait: (Tada!)

They're made from the sap of Yarukiman Mangroves; a special kind of coral blows it into bubbles.

They're strong enough to hold a person's weight, but thin enough that air can get in. Human people use them to breathe underwater!

Do you want to try it, some time? I can take you swimming.

Really? They can come with us! I've never taken humans swimming before.

[Outside of watching her crewmates to make sure they don't drown.]

Oh, yes. Namur. We've, um... met.

[Like that one time he saw her naked. Or that other time they destroyed a bunch of navy ships together. How do you describe something like that?]

[A girls' day out. With a human. She almost doesn't know what to say.]

It's been a long time since I've done that. Since home, maybe.

My crew is really the first time I've ever really spent a lot of time around boys.

Mn, I suppose you're right.

[They are a lot... louder, and smellier, than her female friends.]
seakingbait: (What?)

[personal profile] seakingbait 2014-09-19 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Okay! Should I visit you, or...

[She's not sure how this whole thing works.]
seakingbait: (Tada!)

Sounds great! I'll stock up on bubbly coral and we can make a weekend out of it.
