[Serenes did her good. The absolute peace and quiet in her mind, well, that went away. But the rest perked Rogue up a bit. Enough that she can, at least, address her fellow kidnap victims about something fairly insignificant.]

So, we're from a lot of different worlds, right? That's what I've noticed at least.

That's got me curious.

What're the "milestone" birthdays where y'all are from?

[This has nothing to do with her own upcoming birthday. Nope. Or with using a fairly benign topic to announce her presence to certain people.]

Like. Where I'm from--

You've got sixteen, which means you can drive.
Eighteen's a big deal, even though, y'know, not much y' really get. I mean, buyin' cigarettes an' votin', but that ain' really a big deal.
Then there's twenty-one, legal drinkin' age.

Anybody else got big ones? 'M just curious 'bout the differences in worlds, y'know?

[For the Spades, she's around. Keeping busy, paying close attention to how to work the sails and everything else. The same pep that was in her step on Serenes is gone, but she's also not completely skulking about like she was after Stela and before that.]

Well, it's pretty much the same where I'm from. Granted, it changes a lot based on your homeland, and even beyond that your colony. I'm not really sure there's any galactic standard. It gets even more messy when you factor in alien cultures and how they do things.

I'm just barely into the bracket where I can drive a grappler ship.

We've got different countries with different laws, too. I'm just familiar with the ones where I'm from, and those are the big ones.

I honestly can't think of any beyond social security age.

'S why I figured I'd ask, y'know. See if there were other ones an' all.

I kind of wonder what it's like for people with inhuman life spans. I mean, after a certain point, would you forget those important moments?

Dunno, never talked t' someone with a lifespan like that.

Milestone... I dunno. All birthdays are pretty big. When I was seventeen I set out to become Pirate King so I guess that's a milestone birthday for me.

Is it your birthday, fish girl?

Will be in a week an' some days. Eighteen this year.

Yeah? What are you gonna do? You should have a big party with cake and a lot of meat!

Didn' give it much thought. Didn' know if anybody ever did much with 'em here.

They should. You only have one of 'em a year after all. If you don't get a cake tell me and Sanji'll make you one. He's the best cook on the sea.

I would not say individual birthdays are so very important. The biggest milestone is when a foal gains their cutie mark, typically in adolescence.

A... cutie mark? Ain' heard of that. What is it?
