[Serenes did her good. The absolute peace and quiet in her mind, well, that went away. But the rest perked Rogue up a bit. Enough that she can, at least, address her fellow kidnap victims about something fairly insignificant.]

So, we're from a lot of different worlds, right? That's what I've noticed at least.

That's got me curious.

What're the "milestone" birthdays where y'all are from?

[This has nothing to do with her own upcoming birthday. Nope. Or with using a fairly benign topic to announce her presence to certain people.]

Like. Where I'm from--

You've got sixteen, which means you can drive.
Eighteen's a big deal, even though, y'know, not much y' really get. I mean, buyin' cigarettes an' votin', but that ain' really a big deal.
Then there's twenty-one, legal drinkin' age.

Anybody else got big ones? 'M just curious 'bout the differences in worlds, y'know?

[For the Spades, she's around. Keeping busy, paying close attention to how to work the sails and everything else. The same pep that was in her step on Serenes is gone, but she's also not completely skulking about like she was after Stela and before that.]

I see. What is it like in America? I've never actually been before myself.

[In her time it would take a week or two to even get there, so she has never really gone. Ah, Victorian times.]

Uh. [That's certainly a question. How can she define a whole country?] Guess it depends what part you're talkin' 'bout.

Where I live... It's a nice place. City but not too big. Not too far from New York City, though.

[Nice place sounds nice she thinks.]

New York City... I'm assuming that is a city and is pretty big. Lot's of people?

It's huge. Millions of people living there.

Wow. That does sound pretty big.

[Considering where she came from the odds are there were more people there.]

I guess if I ever went back home and could, I would visit. Just to see what it was like.

It's a pretty amazin' place. 'Specially 'round Christmas.

Amazing around Christmas? What do you mean?

They go t' town with Christmas decorations. Got a big tree in one of the neighborhoods.

A big tree... I've never really seen a city go to town like that. It would be interesting to see.

So would that meant there is something Christmasy everywhere?

Pretty much. It's pretty cool to see it all. Especially since there's actually snow.

[She goes quiet for a good minute or two before speaking again.]

It sounds nice and more peaceful than where I'm from.

I dunno 'bout peaceful. Not with that many people.

But it means there isn't something like war going on though, I assume.

...Depends on the neighborhood, actually. [And the general political climate.]

Neighborhood... You mean it's different where you go?

Yeah. Figure most big cities're like that.

I never noticed. [Then again she gets sent on work a lot so doesn't have much time to pay attention.]

But I did enjoy you telling me about it. It was interesting to learn.
