[His voice is heavy and a bit hoarse but still easy to understand. He has yet to hit the bottle today, but it won't take him much longer to do so.]

Soon it will be September again. Hn, when people started to vanish I thought there would be only a few of us left to see a second autumn in this world.

[Of course, that refers only to those who were the first to arrive to this world. Unfortunately he never doubted that there would still be a lot of people trapped, just... Not the same people for so long.]

*At that Selphie rearranges the way that she's sitting so that she can stretch her legs out over across his lap - yup, definitely been drinking*

Yeah. I think they're pretty cool. The hat and the guns and the whole lone ranger thing. Don't you think so too?

[The movement makes Ikki open his eyes to look at her in wonder, again a small voice telling him it would be better to just end their time together there. She's too drunk and so he is. But instead he just gives her a curious look before he smiles and relaxes again.]

I suppose they are... Though that doesn't sound like someone who would take care of someone who needs to be taken care of.

Oh...I guess you're right...

*With her slight drunkenness, Selphie thinks about this with an obvious frown, then a dramatic pout, then suddenly looking up at him like she's got a bright idea*

I know! If you were my slave and I told you to be a sweet and caring cowboy - that'd work!

So I dress up as a slave and then dress up as a cowboy? Sounds complicated.

[Especially when drunk.]

Yup! That's it! But right now you don't need to do anything - you look really good just as you are. I mean, not just right now, but actually...all the time. Everytime I see you. You look good. Very.

*She's put her bottle down and is now waving her arms a bit with her drunken ramblings*

Hmm, that's not fair. If you say that first, if I say that you look perfect all the time it won't sound sincere.

[He chuckles, slightly. His drunk mind says that he should have said it before, but even drunk he's not the type to go praising outward appearances.]

*Selphie blushes at that, then laughs lightly, like she's very amused*

'Look perfect all the time'? Are you thinking of someone else? It's me - Selphie!

*And as if to make her point, in case he needs reminding, she lifts her face close to his*

I may be drunk, but I'm not drunk enough to not recognize the one and only Selphie Tilmitt. Remember? Even when you're in another body there's no way I would mistake you, and you would still look perfect...

[But that's just him and how he doesn't just look at her physically, so he leans his head back with a soft smile.]

But it's better when you're in your real body. And wearing short skirts to show your legs, there's no reason for you to hide them.

*Selphie smiles brightly at that, leaning back a bit in her satisfaction that he really did mean what he said. She giggles at the last bit, wriggling her legs which were still draped over his lap*

Ikki, are you flirting with me?

*She says him teasingly, but gives her best charming smile anyway*

Flirting? I don't even know how to do that.

[He's just being honest, if that counts as flirting it's not his problem. He drinks again, eyes falling on the wriggling legs for a long moment as he does before he looks at her.]

I know what it is but heck if I know how to do it myself. I'm just saying what I think. Should I not do it?

*Selphie watches him looking at her legs, tilting her head at him, her eyes doing a sweep of his face. When he looks at her, she is still a little flushed and lowers her gaze*

Well, when saying what you think sounds as good as that I don't mind...

Hmmm... Maybe you should mind. If it makes you think I'm flirting with you, would that be a bad thing?

*She looks back up at him, feeling for a moment like maybe she's said something wrong. At his question, she bites her lip and glances away*

Mm no. I don't think so...

[That gives him pause and he looks at her, arching an eyebrow.]

So... You say that me flirting with you isn't bad? You know that this is Ikki, right?

[This time it's his turn to wonder if she has forgotten who she's talking with.]

*Selphie blinks at him and tilts her head*

Wait - am I suppose to think it's bad? Or at least not good or something?

[It's not as if he knows much about those things, after all.]

But when I was with you I didn't like the idea of others flirting with you or doing what felt like so.

[He shrugs and takes another drink.]

'Sides you should hate me, but I guess you're too drunk to care about that.

Really? Well - no one was flirting with me anyway so you didn't need to worry about that.

*She giggles and reaches for her bottle again, because she's finding it a little embarrassing to be talking about them*

*Her mouth just gapes open when he says it, then shyly shakes her head*

I should, though. I should hate your stupid. But I don't, so... So there. Even if I'm drunk. Even if I'm sober.

[And even though he's drunk his word ring serious and firm.]

Fine, you don't hate me. Should still be disgusted or something.

I prefer that you're not scared though.

Were they? You know that Marco doesn't count, right?

*She stares at him for a moment, wondering who might have been flirting with her that he didn't like. But she's too scared to ask about that for now*

Disgusted? Hmm. No... It was you who was disgusted of me, remember?

*Selphie says it teasingly enough, despite how much it hurts, but with this much alcohol it's best to keep things light*

Nu uh. I'm not scared anymore.

*As if to prove it she gives a smile and rests her head on his shoulder*

Marco doesn't count. Neither does Thatch, Namur, Haruta or Ace.

[Let's ignore that Haruta is a girl and that she wasn't even on the ship back when they were together.]

I wasn't disgusted of you... Maybe if a bit of your attitude, but that was mostly because I was disgusted at the general idea, not just with or about you.

I can still hear her screams, you know.

[Whose screams he doesn't specify, he shakes his head and looks at her as she rests her head on his shoulder. It makes him smile more than it should.]

I'm glad.

Good! Then without those guys - there's no other flirting!

*She lowers her eyes at what he says next. And all of it, all together, makes her squeeze his arm against her in a kind of half hug. She blinks up at him, pleased to see that smile, then closes her eyes*

It's good that we can be friends...isn't it?

I've just...missed you. So much. A lot.

[A sigh.]

But I suppose you don't count it as so and it doesn't matter either way.

[He hums, nodding calmly. There's a hint of sadness in his eyes at her last words but it's drowned quickly in more booze.]

*Selphie pouts a little at that, not sure who he was talking about or what he was talking about. She sighs too, aware that now it doesn't matter. All of that is...gone now. So she sits in silence for a moment, before glancing up at him*

So tomorrow, if I see you around on the ship, and you're sober - you'll say hi now, won't you? And things will be normal?

*Not that things between the two of them had ever really been normal*
