[After the escape from Yuezhong -- for those on the Spade Pirates crew, he's on watch up in the crow's nest. Things seem calm at the moment, though, which means he's a liiiiittle bored, so have some random jotted down thoughts.]


Well, definitely didn't pick a boring crew to join. And here I thought I knew how to stir up trouble quickly. Then again, traveling from world to world before, I learned how to keep a low profile, too.

Guess that's not happening here. Can't complain, though. Things are good.

The sea's really quiet tonight...

Watching the ocean like this feels like I'm back home again.


[You'll hear a faint splash suddenly, and there's a pause before the writing starts up again, this time accompanied by Riku's muttered voice:]


.......Except we didn't have fish that big. Or—what is that? Is that a whale??

*Aww but so so adorable Riku!*

Well, cause it was so busy with training and the parties and the war and stuff, ya know? Filled with fighters! It was fun.

*She pauses for a moment, letting out the tiniest of sighs*

I miss it. But this is nice too.

[Nods in understanding.]

I know how you feel. I'm kind of used to world hopping so being here isn't too bad, but...I wish I could've been home for longer.

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie studies his profile for a moment, even if it is pretty dark out here*

But, you have friends from home here with you, at least. That must be nice.

[darknessinside]

Well, one friend, but yeah. As long as he's here, I'll be fine.

[Slight grin.]

It's just... I hadn't been home in—awhile. And then almost barely had any time there before we ended up here. But. [Shrugs.] I guess I'm not any different from anyone else who'd like to get back home, right?

[booyaka_boom]

I'd say you're pretty lucky. I don't have anyone here from home..

*She turns to him quickly, in case he's offended by that*

I mean, there's you and Sora, but that's kinda different...

*Shaking her head, she pulls the blanket tighter around them*

No. We're all in the same boat.

*Then she realises her pun and bursts into laughter*

[Gives her a reassuring smile.]

Definitely different, don't worry about it.

[He snorts at the same moment she realizes her pun, and then chuckles with her after she bursts out laughing.]

Heh, it's true, though! Which I guess is what makes all of this easier.

[booyaka_boom]

Alright! If you say so! But I got you, and the rest of the crew are really nice. I got a place to sleep too, so I guess I can't complain!

*Selphie smiles brightly at the sound of his laughter ~ really, Riku, she thinks you're all kinds of cute*

Mmhmm! We can all get each other through it, and at least it means we can have some fun along the way!

Yeah, our crew is definitely...full of character. I doubt there's ever going to be a dull moment on this ship.

[Still grinning, but he's watching the ocean so he misses Selphie's bright smile. He can hear it in her voice, though, and her cheerfulness is contagious.]

Looks like we can all handle ourselves, too. I heard you got involved in that fight on the island!

[booyaka_boom]

Ha! You can say that again! One of the weirdest bunches of people I've ever seen together!

*Aww, that's a shame. It was a real winning smile. But the horizon looks better*

Mmhmm. I don't even know how that happened. But yeah, we made it through!

[darknessinside]

[lol IF HE SEES IT, he'll get awkward again!]

DO you have a weapon, or...? The Selphie from our home, she, uh. Used to whack me with a jump rope. [Huffs.] That thing could actually hurt, though.

[booyaka_boom]

*Don't get awkward, cause that would be too cute!*

Uh huh! I sure do.

*Jump rope? That sure makes Selphie laugh*

Well, I still use that. Only the rope is a chain, with big hard blocks on the end. This thing hurts a load more than jump ropes, trust me!

[darknessinside]

[Blinks.]

Wow, yeah. I bet! Geez, now I know what the jump rope is leading up to. She'll be a little terror.

...I mean. [Gives Selphie a sheepish look.] Sorry—but really, I'd like to see what you can do! If you don't mind showing me. Maybe we could spar sometime?

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie turns to him quickly at that comment, raising a brow, suggesting that she feels that he's quite right to look so sheepish*

Riiight. Sure, I can show you sometime. But you should watch out, cause I can be a little terror...

[darknessinside]

[Winces a bit.]

I really didn't mean that in a bad way—promise! [Stillll looking sheepish, and he rubs at the back of his neck.] She'll be fierce, I guess. Tough. Like you are.

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie just continues to stare at him for a moment or two, then allows a small smile at his nice little save at the end there*

Oh, she'll be fierce and tough alright! Smarter than she looks, too. And not to mention pretty damned cute. You should watch our for women like that.

*Super serious face*

[Super serious blushing! Kind of. His cheeks go pink anyway.

And he's not sure what to say there because it's either going to sound like he's agreeing, or worse, disagreeing that Selphie is pretty damned cute, so he goes with:]

R-right. I'll, uh. I'll be sure to keep an eye on her?

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie was unaware if the blushing at first, her eyes watching the view in front of her. When she did turn to Riku and noticed, she just tilted her head, waiting to see if he'd offer an explanation, a slow, cheeky smile spreading over her lips*

You do that, Riku. Sounds like a good idea to me.

[Clears his throat.]

So...a chain with big, hard blocks on the end. You use nunchucks?

[booyaka_boom]

Yup! They're the most fun weapon! Well, Quistis' whip looks like it could be pretty fun sometimes.. but the nunchucks are obviously the best choice.

*She is definitely confident about that, nodding her head as though agreeing with herself*

I've never used them... But I'm definitely looking forward to seeing you in action.

Oh, I'm sure you'll get the chance.

*She gives a knowing smile*

How bout you? What do you fight with?

[darknessinside]

This.

[Holds his hand out in front of him and summons his Keyblade, which basically just appears in his grasp out of nowhere.]

Whoa!

*Selphie steps back slightly, holding the blanket so it doesn't slide*

Wow! That's pretty awesome!

[darknessinside]

[Smirks.]

It's a convenient way to carry a weapon, at least.

[He slashes at the air a few times.]

It's called a Keyblade.

I wish I could do that with mine! It can be kinda clunky sometimes!

*Selphie smiles as she watches him, and claps her hands together*
