[Written] And now for something completely different from the last time

Marco here.

Sorry for my state in the last post, and thank you very much to those sweet enough to humor me, you're too kind.

Bepo, and Vyse, I have duplicates of my maps for you, assuming you both still want them.

For everyone else, I've made about twenty copies of various maps and directions to the Corsair Naval Masquerade Ball. Likewise, in the interest of furthering piracy rebelling against lawful order, I will teach the basics of ranks to anyone with enough brains to actually hold the knowledge. Remember, if you want to go, wear formal costume, and pretend to be part of the navy. Anyone in the Spades wishing to help infiltrate must be able to perform a correct salute and demonstrate ability to discern when it's appropriate. Those who cannot may help infiltrate as waiters.

Thank you.
- Marco

Edited Addendum: Dance lessons for Spades unfamiliar with waltz, samba, and tango will be held every night this week. Namur's breakdance competition comes with a reward, but this style of dance is not acceptable for naval officers, sorry Nam-chan.

I am embarrassed to say I have about three favors to ask of you.

[Locked to Grell Sutcliff]

Hello Kitten. How do you feel about getting a little vengeance, eh?

[Locked to Sebastian]

My phoenix brother and I are in the mood to spread our wings. Think you can get a babysitter that night to come have fun?

Okay, great. Do you need to be going to the party to take any of these lessons? Do you have to be a supporter of toppling lawful order to go to the party? Why is the navy even having a ball? Annnd what's a breakdance, because with that kind of a name, I really can't figure out if it's supposed to be something painful or not.
bolincredible: (that does not begin to cover it.)

[ Only madness lies in responsible guys liking entire crews tbh. ]

I can work with seeing. Hands-on learning is a great way to go! Putting a shindig together to celebrate slaying is. You know, a lot less great. Wow. Kind of goes against all your basic courtesy.
bolincredible: (what do i do tho)

You make a very compelling argument there, sir. Cannot say that I disagree. [ Actually, the more he thinks about it, the more it is just largely disturbing. It's not like anyone asked to get sucked into Pirate-o-Rama. ] And don't get me wrong, normally I'm pretty okay with laws and order and stuff. Try to be a... justice-upholder. I guess.

[ But he's starting to think there's a point where doing the right thing isn't automatically what people up top are really... thinking about? Like there's Varrick, who did a lot of great things for him and Korra and Asami to help them out, but he was also kind of just thinking about himself. But he's still pretty great, but he's still pretty wrong. And the Navy's kind of only doing their job, but it apparently involves killing people who don't wanna be here anyway and then throwing big parties to celebrate it? Talk about a lack of manners.

This stuff is so overcomplicated. What happened to just being good or bad? ]

[ NEVER, HE IS A HERO OF THE SOUTH. ]

Maybe. I'm not too shabby at a fancy party! The secret is to look happy and tell everybody you like their outfit.
bolincredible: (yeah but our fancy duds!!)

Nnnope. You know, it got down to photographers and fancy outfits and shaking hands and stuff, and I usually just ended up hanging around near the food. I mean, any kind of free food? It doesn't get better than that. [ Bolin's real challenge of the evening will be trying to get out of the place with an intact plate of food, obviously. Or maybe some pockets full... you can take the kid off the streets, but you can't take a natural love of freebies out of the kid. ] But I'm willing to learn some dancing for a special occasion.

Sounds good to me, sir! [ SOUNDS GREAT, EVEN, HE'S ON IT. ] Oh-- hey, and is there some kind of animal companion protocol here? I've got Pabu, but if he's gonna get in trouble for being around...
bolincredible: (I am a gentleman and a sir.)

[personal profile] bolincredible 2014-04-22 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
The Jungle Book...? [ Ah, whatevs. He doesn't read much anyway. It's down to the principle of unethical animal companion consumption. ] Well, if someone wants to eat Pabu, they'll have to eat me first just to get to him. And I'm probably very gamey!

[ Or he would throw rocks and run away. Either way, really. ]

Ohhh. Well, I'm a city kid at heart, but I can totally see where you're coming from there. [ It sounds horrifying. ] And I'll keep it in mind. I mean, I met Pabu when I saved him from being eaten anyway, so I kind of know what I'm doing! Lucky for me, I needed a buddy more mobile than a... uh, a bear.

[ But wow, is this Bepo like.... just a bear.... he saw one or two of those on Serenes but it's still kind of weird. ]

Oh, my food-sneaking days are well past me, sir. [ Stealing from criminals, no matter how technical, is usually a big no-no anyway. Stealing from one who lives on the same ships and feeds everyone is a shade too rude on top of that kind of nonsense. ] If I need to have something ahead of time, I'll just ask him! The worst he can do is say no, right?

[ He'll have a better picture in the future, once he's actually conversed with Zeff, of course. ]

Maybe not. He's got the moustache of a very kindly man.

Your dad got famous for his moustache? [ It's too late, he's listening and he's freaking amazed. Mako probably feels a sense of brotherly despair descending upon him from the other side of the ship right now, for reasons he doesn't yet understand. ] That is so cool!
bolincredible: (look at these eyebrows would they lie)

I always knew facial hair had an important place in life. You guys come from one heck of a quality world, you know that? [ Even though he literally only knows that there are mustache flag pirates and it's where Ace and Marco come from. ]
