It's starting to look like I showed up here alone and without my team. Someone pointed out that this was the best way to find people I know, so... here it goes.

Anyone who recognizes B.P.R.D. please respond. It's Sparky.

Anyone else reading this, if you've seen a big red ape with a stone hand wandering around, please direct me to them. I suppose the ghost and mystery journal is the least shocking thing I've seen before this. Not too keen on the sailing thing though. I'm a bit more used to jumbo jets and trucks then... boats. Been a while since I bothered with the sea.

[She cut it off here, unsure if this would do anything. She didn't sign it as Liz, because she didn't want to give that away yet.]

Oh! Fire? [He sounded curious, but just as confused. She didn't sound at all like Ace and he wasn't quite sure if he had heard of anyone else eating the Flare Flare fruit. Well, it wouldn't hurt to ask.]

Have you ever eaten a really bad tasting fruit before, miss? One that would definitely be memorable to you?

That's a... curious question. [how did we go from fire as a weapon to.... bad fruit? She sounds a bit confused.]

I suppose everyone's taken a bit of bad fruit once before, but no, I can't really say it was memorable.

Well, as per my motivation for asking... There's a thing called a 'Devil Fruit' that grants powers when it's eaten. One fruit I've heard of is the 'Flare Flare Fruit' and anyone who eats it can turn themselves into and manipulate fire.

Since it became available again, I just wondered, you know--if you'd eaten it.

Oh...

[That didn't sound weird at ALL. No, really, not at ALL...]

[Okay a little bit.]

Ah, no, I can't say it came from fruit. I was... uh, born with it? I also can't turn myself into fire. Just... control it. [This was stupid. She told herself NOT to tell anyone about this. But it was seeming more and more strange around here.] It's called Pyrokinesis.

[Hey, he didn't invent it! Still, it was kind of cool, he thought. Fruits that made you do weird things...]

[it IS kind of cool, though she wondered if there were fruits to take powers away too. Maybe that would be for the better for her...]

It's a bit more trouble then it's worth. It's... a mental thing. Emotional, really. So I don't think I have a very good control over it, which is why I don't think it's a good idea sticking me on a wooden boat. You see?

[Coby nodded. Liz didn't see, but he was actually taking notes.]

Then, it definitely is something we can manage, miss! Even if I'm a profound failure in aiding you, if you were to sail with us--one of our crew members can actively manipulate ice and frosty gales!

[and that got her attention. She sounds a bit more interested now. He'd mentioned fruit powers and all... but hearing there is someone with an elemental power... ]

Wait, so you actually are working with someone... who can manipulate ice? An elemental user? And they have control over it?

[a small pause, then...] I... would be interested in sailing with you, at least to see if I can. Honestly, I would appreciate the help...

Is there somewhere around here we could meet? Seems... odd talking to a book.

I should mention I'm on Isla Empieza. You've definitely arrived on this same island, correct? It seems to be a consistent pattern given posts I've read, but I can't rest on assumptions.

Mmm yeah. Isla Empieza. That was where I woke up. I've been hiding out just outside the town for now. The locals aren't too friendly to new faces I found.

In fact, they chased me out with pitch forks only a few weeks ago. I had to sail elsewhere until things calmed down.

I hadn't even really spoken to anyone, either.

I asked a few questions, here and there. Ran into a girl who gave me some more enthusiastic information, but otherwise, the actual locals aren't so chatty. I've been told about pitch forks and running people off the island though.

I figured it'd be safer for them if I stay clear for a bit. So... sticking around is a threat then. I suppose I do need to find passage off this rock. [she sighed, not really looking forward to it. At least these people didn't seem... normal either]

[There was that. Coby frowned at the pitch-forks line, remembering it vividly. He thought it was a euphemism or a joke--until he was literally stabbed at with one. It was some sort of local tradition.]/small>

Then, miss, I really do suggest sailing with our group for at least awhile. If you decide to stay, we would welcome you--if not, we would gladly look for an island in which you could live peacefully.

[He was good at making this sound... good, she gave him that, and he seemed honestly sincere about the offer. It was a really good offer though. She can't imagine them wanting to keep her around but...]

Alright. I suppose it can't hurt, even if it's just for a little while. I don't even require much space. [it was meant as a joke, because she was so short and tended to be as invisible as possible...] Let me know where to find you and yours.
