It seems we're all trapped here against our will, though from what I've been given to understand, some have taken it better than others.
[not that he had any jurisdiction here, and he still wasn't sure what to do about that or if there was anything to do]
Still, there's much to do in the sea without resorting to piracy. It is possible to make an honest living even here. [difficult perhaps. And maybe he's talking to the wind. But sometimes in order to study the path of justice, you had to give it a little push]
If you choose otherwise, well, it's on your head.
[one way or the other]
[and at the bottom he has signed "Aokiji" with a steady hand, but also a slight flourish.]

Voice;
I'VE GONE A BONE TO PICK WITH YOU. WHY'D YOU SWITCH POWERS WITH ME!?
Voice;
Portgas D. Ace.
[he had heard of his presence and...isn't sure what to make of it to be honest. It was jarring that they had gone through so much, lost so much, changed so much--]
The man who shattered an era...
[he says as much wondering how Portgas will take it...what he will say]
Voice;
Did you get bored bein' an ice cube and wanna try out being really awesome!? I don't blame you, but you gotta ask first! Otherwise, it's impolite!
[Not that he'd ever accommodate that request, but it was still a measure of asking!]

This is an abhorrent situation, after all.

I... Yes, I agree. Still, it's going to affect my judgement. I can't properly prosecute someone who pursues such a thing as a means of self defense.

[it's not as shocked and awed as it would have been two years ago, but there's still an undertone of suspicion. Combined with a bit of 'oh hell.']

[Roronoa Zoro, a bounty now standing at 120,000,000 Beri. May or may not be connected to the Hawkeyes Mihawk....]
...ah well never mind...
Something you wanted?

[So then it was before his fight with Akainu.]
[And before saving Smoker's life yet again.]
[This is starting to become a real pain in the ass of a pattern.]
So what will you do here?
[Voice]
[certainly not communicate his plans on an open log with enemies and potential enemies in the area. That subordinate of yours must grow very tired, Smoker. He hopes you're paying her well.]
You've picked up new companions?
[how does he know? Well Coby for one. It's surprising but it isn't, knowing Smoker, knowing Straw Hat. He'd like to be a fly on the wall in any case.]

[Chandra gets the sense from seeing Ace's conversation that this guy is from the captain's world. And they are not on good terms.]
The military here attacks off-worlders on sight. So wanting to live honestly has fuckall to do with keeping them off our backs. They'll be after us regardless.
[Voice]
[It's not surprising. "Outworlders" "unknowns" no military likes that cluttering the seas. Especially when he knows at least a few of them may have powers said navy aren't equipped to deal with. He doesn't know of course. Or rather, he can't be sure. But few officers would take that chance, nor take intruders so lightly]
That's troublesome...
[he thinks about this]
Has anyone tried?
[an honest question]

I can't speak for everyone, but my crew is not full of pillagers. We seek the shards because right now it seems to be our best chance at getting home. And it is in everyone's best interest to work together to achieve that goal.
[voice]
Everyone's best interest?
[he sounds mildly doubtful]
You must know everyone well.

What kind of living would you suggest?
[at this point he is willing to let her throw out a suggestion and do the thinking for him. At least until he comes up with a better solution.]

[justification was all too easy to come to when using that title. Aside from that, it was disturbing in a way. So many were sailing under the auspices of 'piracy' without understanding what it meant. Then again, it wasn't so different from home]

Is mere survival all you're capable of?
