If you have ever privately thought that a crewmate could do with being more genial, hope that the change is limited, or at least gradual. Undisguised contempt has never felt so comforting.
Has everyone lived down that day?
Has everyone lived down that day?

voice;
Is that really an effective approach? If your crewmates don't feel the same...

[She's both surprised and impressed. Still...]
Don't you think it would be a misuse of your power? I understand the indignity these curses can put us through, but surely trust between you and your crew is more important.

I agree it would be a bit of a missuse, but... I believe trust would be held better with such light as that day brought dimmed forever.

Was false hope given? Or promises made that you cannot keep?

If you're talking about Mr. Ragna, it felt as though he was possessed. We could have exorcised him and I'm certain ghosts would've come pouring out of his mouth.

[Xun Yu looks up from the records she is updating, and smiles slightly in amusement.]
That's quite a picture you paint, Kodachi. Did you know that he's terrified of ghosts?
no subject
[Kodachi looked positively gleeful at this news.]
How did you come to know this?

Almost two months ago the Captain decided that the crew needed to bond, so when we docked at Port Chance we all shared a mandatory evening of drinking and storytelling meant to bring us closer. But things got off to a slow start because when it decided that the stories would be ghost stories, Ragna panicked and tried to escape. When his escape was blocked he still refused to settle down.
[Her explanation given, Xun Yu poses her own question.]
Has anyone warned you of curses yet?
no subject
He was afraid of ghost stories, hmm?
[The smile on her face would've sent chills running down a villain's spine.]
Curses? What sort of curses?

If I may ask, where do you originate from? 'Surface' is an unusual distinction to make.

... I check out this shit of a notebook sometimes, too, bitch.
[Looks like there's at least one person who will NEVER live it down.]
no subject
I'm sure that you do.
[She says primly, setting down her pen.]

And? That's all you've got to say...?

[Xun Yu's not about to be intimidated into backing down.]
While I don't begrudge you a full day of irrepressible happiness, that curse was undeniably sinister. You were hardly yourself.
[She hasn't even named him, or shared any real details of that day. She didn't have to do him the courtesy -- but perhaps he doesn't understand that.]
Did you know that your eyes can sparkle brilliantly?
no subject
Wha─
[His eyes widen at that last statement, and he finds himself at a loss for words for a moment. That sort of comment was... unexpected, especially with how hard the man has been trying to forget everything he did on that day. A few seconds later his surprised expression is replaced with a scowl as he glares daggers at Xun Yu.]
... Don't screw around with me. That crap never happened, got it?

[Mitsuhide is never going to forget the day that just passed. Some changes just aren't right.]
Such is a... disquieting experience, to say the least.
no subject
Had he just been himself, only unusually happy, I could have handled it. But it was as though a stranger occupied his body. I foolishly imagined our natures to be safe from curses.
Are you and the Koumyou doing well now, Mitsuhide?
