Since Selphie was reading love poetry, I started thinking about love again. How depressing, right? I'm beginning to think that being a pirate means not having manners or treating ladies with respect. Sure, there are some exceptions, but the things I've had to go through, honestly...

Do you think the perfect guy is really out there? My lord Ujiyasu would always say that my standards are too high, but what's wrong with high standards? If you set your standards too low, that's what you're going to be stuck with. That's what I think, at least.

Being perfect doesn't mean much. It just means you're the best person there is. To me, it seems kind of stupid to say I'm better than everyone.

I don't believe having high standards is a bad thing. If they're utterly inflexible, then there might be a problem. But, overall, standards are what make sure you like what you end up with.

Same here! There are expectations for a lady of my class and station and I'm not going to just abandon them because that's not how pirates are supposed to do things.

Being a pirate doesn't mean a lack of respect.

You must not have ran into very many nice pirates. There were a lot of them back home, and when a lady was around, you showed respect so long as she deserved it.
