[The writing is large and looping and it looks like proper penmanship has been abandoned in favor of looking girly and cute.]

Since Selphie was reading love poetry, I started thinking about love again. How depressing, right? I'm beginning to think that being a pirate means not having manners or treating ladies with respect. Sure, there are some exceptions, but the things I've had to go through, honestly...

Do you think the perfect guy is really out there? My lord Ujiyasu would always say that my standards are too high, but what's wrong with high standards? If you set your standards too low, that's what you're going to be stuck with. That's what I think, at least.

I could deal with "good," but I still have some requirements, you know?

What are they? I might- ah well I don't know anyone here yet but I might meet someone who fits your criteria!

I guess if I'm just cutting it down to the basics, I would have to say that he would have to be polite, have good manners, not be oblivious about his feelings or mine, and not talk down to me like he's better than me. Sure, there's a much longer list, but those are the things I can't really be flexible on.

...won't talk down to her. [ anna's mumbling to herself as she notes down what kai is saying ] Well these all sound pretty reasonable to me! I'm sure there's someone out there who'll meet your standards! [ come to think of it ] I even know someone like that! He's ah. Spoken for though. Very much so. [ thinking ] And I know someone who seems like the total opposite but- [ anyone can hear the smile in her voice ] He's a really good person too. Nnnnnot so much with the impeccable manners or any manners and he sure likes giving his unsolicited opinion but he'll help out a person in need even if it causes problems for him.

[ talking about Kristoff reminds her of something else he said ] Hey. Um. You've met plenty of men right?

Huh? Tons of them.

[Then it occurs to her that Anna probably isn't talking about exactly the same context.]

I, um, well, that is to say...I'm a warrior, so it's usually as part of a battle, but...

[ her voice gets a little hushed ] So you've uh. Had a lot of opportunity to observe their behavior, right? Like their eating habits and grooming habits... [ belatedly ] if any?

Oh, yeah, yeah, I've done that! What do you need to know?

[There's definitely a wide variation in that sort of thing, just on her own crew alone.]

Okay so someone who shall remain unnamed to protect his identity for when he is proven completely and embarrassingly wrong. [ stay on topic anna! ] Um yeah that someone told me that men, all men, [ she knows this is a lie but Kristoff seemed so confident so of course she wants to be able to rub contradicting proof in his face ] pick their noses and then eats [ eugh ] whatever they dig up in there.

Oh, ew, NO! Whoever that is, never let them spend time with the captain of the Spade Pirates.

[They don't need to be able to back each other up.]

I can definitely say that not all men do that. Some men are actually raised with proper manners and make use of them. Maybe they might do something like that in private, but never in front of others.

[For example, she could never see Lord Yukimura doing such a thing.]

Well, he's not here so that's easy enough to do!

[ wait why shouldn't they- oh no ]

Wait, even if they don't do it in public, there's still a chance they might be doing it in private?

[ she sounds so appalled ]

Eugh!

I know, right?! It's best to just not think about it. Just pretend all guys who seem perfect really are. What you don't know can't hurt you, right?
