[The writing is large and looping and it looks like proper penmanship has been abandoned in favor of looking girly and cute.]

Since Selphie was reading love poetry, I started thinking about love again. How depressing, right? I'm beginning to think that being a pirate means not having manners or treating ladies with respect. Sure, there are some exceptions, but the things I've had to go through, honestly...

Do you think the perfect guy is really out there? My lord Ujiyasu would always say that my standards are too high, but what's wrong with high standards? If you set your standards too low, that's what you're going to be stuck with. That's what I think, at least.

[It takes a little while for Mitsuhide to remember anything about Narita Ujinaga, but eventually, the most basic of information comes to mind. It's not much, but as a former principle retainer of the Oda he'd had to know something at least about their potential enemies or allies.]

I recall the Narita clan from reports on the Kantou lands, just about. Forgive me, but I know only a little of your family.

It would be more proper, but please don't. There are certain people who really don't need to know that.

I think people here think of something a little different when you call someone "princess."

[The customs of other places, worlds and times are so wide and varied. It's hard to keep up sometimes; Mitsuhide has had his methods of addressing others questioned many times.]

I hope they think nothing inappropriate.

No, but it's more along the lines of royalty rather than nobility. The one on my ship who gets addressed as "princess" is a ruler in her own right [OF PONIES] and that's nothing like my own station. ~~I get scolded enough for my expectations~~

[They certainly don't, Kai. This is clearly steering back to topics that are likely to fluster Mitsuhide considerably, but he can't be impolite and simply ignore it either. She's a Lady, after all.]

Are you really unable to meet one who treats you in the right manner, Lady Kai?

Among those who are proud to call themselves pirates, yes. There seem to be men of better quality on some other ships, but not on my own.

[She's a bit hesitant to complain about something like this to Mitsuhide, but at least he probably understands the problem.]

Perhaps that situation will change soon. No ship can be without at least one man with proper manners for too long, surely.

[Actually, now he thinks about it, there is another important consideration to make...]

The crew of which I am First Mate and my Lord Motochika is Captain is mostly filled with young ones who come from a time very different to our own. Adjusting to their idea of what is respectful has taken a lot of time; different times and places seem to have their own customs in that regard.

Maybe, but most of my crew is from the same time and place and there is one of them with pretty decent manners who says that there are plenty of men back where they came from who know how to act properly, so I'm not cutting them any slack.

[It's just that the one with decent manners is...

Perhaps the partner you seek is not aboard the ship you sail on, then. If they must me educated then they may not be an ideal for you romantically.

They're definitely not on this ship. I have a friend who says she knows someone more suitable, but I'm not really sure yet how that will work out.

[Since Selphie sort of killed him during the whole possession mess and that kind of makes things awkward.]
