[The writing is large and looping and it looks like proper penmanship has been abandoned in favor of looking girly and cute.]

Since Selphie was reading love poetry, I started thinking about love again. How depressing, right? I'm beginning to think that being a pirate means not having manners or treating ladies with respect. Sure, there are some exceptions, but the things I've had to go through, honestly...

Do you think the perfect guy is really out there? My lord Ujiyasu would always say that my standards are too high, but what's wrong with high standards? If you set your standards too low, that's what you're going to be stuck with. That's what I think, at least.

It would have to be a guy who would actually notice me and let me know if I'm not noticing him. The whole "love from afar" thing sounds really romantic, but all the shine rubs off it when you see it in action. So it would be better if he wasn't the oblivious type. The romantic type would be better. Being courted would be really nice, wouldn't it? Presents and love poems and that sort of thing?

That's certainly specific, but I think I can understand.

Are you sure that such a man even exists though?

I'd rather pretend he does than give up and decide he doesn't.

One thing I think you should know sailing these seas though is to never close yourself off to opportunity. I don't mean to settle, I mean that often the best things that come along are better than you could have ever even dreamed. Don't rigidly set something up only to find out you don't really want it after all, eh.

It's all just a dream, really, but I'd rather have an unattainable dream than a guy who steals people's teeth and doesn't see anything wrong with it.

Still, you'd rather have someone you couldn't have? Are you sure you even want someone?

Of course I do! I never said anything about wanting someone I can't have, I said I'd rather not have anyone at all if my only other choice is an uncouth, arrogant boor.

Well, there are certainly men in between those two extremes. Are any of the standards one you're willing to drop down a peg?
