I would call this a dream if I ever even considered the thought of being a pirate, but let's be honest, Ninja's are cooler.

Now don't go slitting my throat, I'm just joking. But all of this does feel like I found myself on the set to some weird TV show. Except it’s far too expansive and as far as I can see there's no camera's around. So this leaves me with the conclusion that this may be some mental disorder caused by lack of sleep and the crazy shit that has become my life...or I've been transported from Japan back to the past and landed on what I'll assume to be a Caribbean island, and one where all the locals can speak Japanese.

...Personally I'm leaning towards delusion myself.

But in the case this is in fact reality, I suppose I better get on with it and find some work.

So who of you is in need of medical attention?

[a cold tone enters his voice as he talks about their old town. All it is now is the ruins of a war field that no one can know about.]

Sounds like a Riot. What about this gem we're supposed to be searching for? Got any information on that?

Yes, well, I did attend a party many months ago, I even drank with Logan. He gave me a sip of what he was having a week or so ago, but the rum was better. That was way too strong.

[He sobers though, but doesn't comment. It's not the time to ask questions.]

Not really, I don't think our captain is working too hard to find the gem. We've never found any of it. No one seems to know how many pieces there are or where to find them. That suits me fine since I'm not exactly in a hurry to walk into my death. [There's a slight pause.] Anymore.

[Excuse him as he disappears for a bit.]

[He chuckles a little, trying to imagine what Natsuno would be like drunk.]

I'm not a big drinker myself, never really had the opportunity. What you probably tried before was Vodka, maybe Whiskey. You probably wouldn't be able to deal with Saki.

[For a while Toshio goes silent. Well it wasn't like he had insisted in pulling Natsuno away from the suicidal wishes, rather he kind of supported them.]

That's weird; I would think a big crew like this they would have gathered some by now. What about the other ships?

[And they might never know because Natsuno isn't really the type to try, at least not yet.]

I'm sure you get used to it.

[It isn't like Natsuno asked him to save him, in fact it was the opposite. They both understood the stakes, and he would never suggest otherwise.]

I have no idea. People who have them haven't said, I don't think.

Hahaha, it's not that I don't party; just a tipsy Doctor is never preferable.

[Stakes? The plan was to kill him. Even so, he was an ally, he wasn't a threat, as a Jinrou he could live without blood, and did live without blood until he bit Toshio. He's not sure how he's been acting while on board the ship, but his death just didn't feel right. Well, at least now he can save the kid, not that he needed it.]

Guess I'll ask around, it would be crap if what we're "searching for" doesn't even exist in the first place.

I'm certain people would mind a tipsy Doctor. However on this crew I'm certain there's a fair amount of enabling going on. There's a wide variety of people on this crew and yet somehow it works. Just watch out for Selphie. She likes to hug people.

[It's only fair to warn him. He's sure Toshio can imagine what happened when Selphie hugged Natsuno.]

There's someone who comes on the journal to answer a question every week. I don't trust them, and they don't give straight answers. Many other people do trust them though. Never met them, they go by Dog. You're welcome to try your luck, but I'd advise against it.

[Natsuno has learned so much more about being a Jinrou since then, and in fact can't really live without blood. At least he could live with minimal blood. It's likely something they could talk about if Toshio wants to know more.]

They can go ahead and enable, it won't come to anything.

[He squeaks a bit, scandalized and embarrassed.]

[He breaks out into laughter. Oh man, Natsuno...]

….Or maybe you’re just a-sexual like the rumors say? Who knows, not my place to judge.

[Though he suspects Natsuno may be more interested in people of a similar structure.]

[Blushing so much, shut up Toshio. If only he were rude enough to say that.]

[Well in Sotoba, being asexual is a better rumor than the alternative.]

[Their precious Doctor and Priest may have helped with their blindness in that category. Those two are just as obvious as Natsuno and Tohru...If not more so.]

[Oh look at the time, seems like there's other things he could be doing that are far less embarrassing.]

[But as far as reuniting with a kid you left for dead goes, this has to be in the top ten. And now he's kind of looking forward to seeing the kid again. He closes his own journal and puts it away, time to prepare before he has to set sail.]
