[The start of what looks like a grocery list abruptly cuts off as 1) Sanji gets...distracted, and 2) he remembers this isn't just scrap paper and other people will see it. Shit. He skips further down the page.]

So...how many of you guys getting ready to set sail actually know what the hell to do once you're out at sea?

And how many of you stocked up properly, fucking hell.

Listen, just 'cause we're here and not home on Sunny where my fridge had a shitty lock on it, don't think you can just get all grabby again and take whatever the hell you want! Same rules apply, my galley is MY GALLEY, stay out of it and DON'T EAT SHIT WITHOUT ASKING!!!

[as he chews on the rind, which you can probably see as he's wandered into the room in hopes you'll give him something better to munch]

Or a sandwich?

[Glances up when suddenly he's hearing Luffy's voice from two places, and then slams the journal shut.]

Don't eat that, Luffy, geez.

[Just sounds exasperated. Then with a roll of his eyes, he stands up.]

I'll make a couple.

[he shuts the journal, too and spits it out because it isn't very tasty and Sanji says to. He rests his chin on his hands and thinks about hearts and shards and Davy Jones and pirate devils--and then he remembers]

Davey Jones was part of the Davey Back thing, right? [he wonders if it's the same guy] Do you know anything about him, Sanji?

[Pauses as he's pulling out ingredients for sandwiches.]

I think it was named after him, yeah. Remember we had to swear by him that we'd follow the game's rules?

[Carries the food and stuff over to the counter and starts putting together Luffy's snack.]

As for the bastard himself...not sure, I think he might just be a legend or a myth. Where we're from, anyway. There's lots of stories about him. The Pirate of the Deep, you know, just something sailors talk about.

Seems like he's more of an asshole here. And was an actual pirate at some point, but he fucked up somewhere along the line and now he's got all of us doing his shit for him.

We have to find his heart and his shards huh...

[he folds his hands behind his head and looks at the ceiling, rocking back on the chair. It was harder to guess what to do. It wasn't like the one piece since everyone who wanted to go home had to go after it, right?

Some people would share the shards maybe but some people wouldn't. So the only way it would work is if more people shared]

We can't do it on our own. We'll have to count on everyone...

[so that meant... what...?]

Well, the shards, at least. That's what it sounds like. There was something about them granting wishes.

[Plops a plate of sandwiches in front of Luffy, then sits down across from him and lights up a cigarette.]

I don't know if we can count on everyone. Think half the people here ain't even been on a ship before, much less know how to sail one. Can you imagine what'll happen if this shitty ocean is anything like the Grand Line?

[He eats the sandwiches thoughtfully as he stares at the ceiling.

Sanji is worried about them. Luffy is, too. Not the ones that are with Ace or the old hat guy, because he knows they know what they're doing. Even the ones who sail with Smoker will be alright. But it's everyone else...

They can kick the annoying ghost's ass... but right now they can't even get to him...and it wouldn't be soon enough to help those who were going to need it. But they couldn't help everyone and they needed to get stronger, too. What if the ghost guy was as strong as the bear guy? Or stronger? Just sailing around and having adventures isn't going to be enough.

The question is too big and thinking it all out is giving him a headache. If Zoro were here, he'd know how to cut straight to an answer and Luffy could go off that if he wanted or do something else and trust Zoro to look after what was important but--he isn't here...]

This is so annoying... What should we do?

[about the people who were going to get hurt and the shards and everything...]

[Tips his head back and slowly exhales a cloud of smoke.]

If there's any chance getting this shitty jewel thing back together is going to get us home, then I guess the faster we do that, the better. For everyone.

[Slight pause.]

And we can keep an eye on the others. Maybe they'll be fast learners.

[If they tried to take care of everyone, though, they wouldn't have time to do anything. And if they had a lot of shards, the people who wanted the shards just for themselves would be after them. They weren't strong enough to fight off everyone for everything.

He holds the last sandwich between his lips as he folds his arms and looks at the table. The shards are important, but if everyone is looking for them then it's more spread out and even if everyone wants to put it together it'll be hard to tell who has what, and if someone wants to keep the shards for themselves it'll be easier for them to pick off the weaker groups before anyone can figure out how much there is left.

Ahh this is so hard! He digs the heels of his hands against his head while his brain feels like it's getting cooked. Everything is hot-- so he needs to be cool...]

Sanji-- Milk...

[Cocks an eyebrow, then gives a low snort and pushes back from the table to get his captain some milk.

He stays quiet until he's holding the glass out for him to take.]

Don't think too hard on it, Luffy. We're not gonna be able to protect everyone, just...if they ask for help, maybe we'll see what we can do. You know? There's gonna be more important shit to do. And let's face it, there's gonna be some people who are assholes so we're gonna have our work cut out for us.

[yeah there's going to be more important stuff for them than the shards so that's the biggest problem. But he's going to drink this milk and once his head is cool he'll know the answer. He takes the milk and takes a long long drink, tilting his head back to get it all at once.

Then plonks it on the table when he's done, letting out a gasp and seeing a white milk mustache in his faint reflection. Oh right!]

We'll help who we want. [just like always] And we'll give the shards to Smokey.

[because he is strong and his justice will make sure that everyone gets a chance to be treated right. He knows what's important after all]

[Looking like his icon, yep.]

Uh...we will?

[nod!] That way we can do what we want and not worry about them. And if someone does kick Smokey's ass and takes them, we'll know who it is and kick their ass back and retake them.

[NOT SURE IF TERRIBLE IDEA OR BRILLIANT.

He sighs, then shrugs and lifts his hands in WELL WHATEVER kind of way.]

Sure, I guess that could work.

Sanji just quietly picks up his dirty dishes and goes to wash them, letting Luffy sleep!

.......But if he start to snore, Sanji'll kick his face in. :|]

[of course starts snoring. But he also still has a milk mustache...so there's that.]
