Roger was a little crazy about marines too, eh? I can't think of anyone in their right mind who'd trust Garp with something like that, but Roger would have. [Did. He trusted him with Ace after all, but like hell Marco will say that. It's Ace's call who or when to tell.] He was always like that. He and Pops drove me nuts sometimes. Neither had much sense of self-preservation, so they didn't really look at things like marines as dangerous. And his idea of enemies was never about who hated him. [Shanks is that way too. Damn bastard.]

Tch...the world is definitely full of those kinds of idiots. I'm not surprised.

[He chuckles a bit.]

But then I guess technically the marines are the good guys. They should be trustworthy, yeah? Some of 'em.

Have you actually met any you'd trust?

I ain't been a pirate that long. Some I ran into before were assholes, but others...eh. Plus, there's Smoker, if I thought he was a total idiot I'd have kicked Luffy upside his shitty rubber head some more about the whole shards thing.

I have yet to meet one I'd trust.

As it is, while I'm rather unfamiliar with that one, especially for a vice admiral, if I recall right, he was also at Marineford and tried to arrest your captain, so I'd reserve that trust all the same.

[Ignoring the rest of that because there's just that little tiny detail that sticks out and doesn't match up with what Sanji knows—]

[Yeah, he's already aware of them being from different times and such, but no one's mentioned this part yet.]

Never mind. [If Sanji hasn't heard of it, then it must not have happened for him. No one could be so oblivious so as not to hear about what happened at Marineford.] The War of the Best was the last time I saw your captain before here, but it seems he doesn't remember it. Just as well really.

[Sorry Sanji, Marco sort of does this a lot. Pity his crewmates for getting only half-details and yet he somehow expects them to get it anyway.]

Anyway, last thing I remember hearing about you guys? Hm. ...Ace was in trouble, I think. His Vivre Card was burning up.

Aye. He was scheduled for public execution as bait for us. We rounded up all the allies and headed to Marineford to rescue him. That was the war, the battle.

Your captain was there with Jinbei and few others he broke out of Impel Down and that's the time I saw the White Hunter.

Public execution?

[Whoa, whoa -- Sanji knew Luffy had been at Impel Down, but he hadn't been very clear on the details of WHY he was there because...well, it's Luffy. Ace being scheduled for something like that is news to him.]

And how in the hell did Luffy make it to Marineford from Impel Down? [Not really looking for an answer there, he's more just musing out loud.] Shit, that guy... When he's determined, he's unstoppable.

[And Sanji isn't sure he wants to know what all happened there suddenly. If it's something Marco wants to forget... That really gives him a bad feeling about it.]

...That battle is from after Luffy's, uh...time. I wonder how much he knows about it.

Well, he showed up with Jinbei and Emperio Ivankov, and some other idiots, so I assume they helped him. They had a giant prison break out. Crocodile included.

And he doesn't recognize me, so I doubt it. It's probably just as well.
