Is this what I think it is?

[Oh, well. Yes. It's actually some salami, a entire box of it, she received it from the Christmas ship. It's even labelled]

I don't know a lot about this whole Christmas day celebration, aside from what I've heard here, but, um....thanks? I think.

[Should anyone come across her, she'll be lugging around that box to her room. Why she is even keeping it is a mystery to her]

Over here. [She nudges with her head and takes a step in that direction, hoping Kairi will do the same]

[She nods, she knew what she meant at least and moves to take the step in the right direction. She was good at following orders, at least she knew that much.]

Have you ever sailed before?

[When they reach her room, Asami pushes the door open and lays her side of the box on the ground]

I've driven a boat before if that's what you mean, but this is the first time I've sailed like this before. Especially on a ship this old.

[She carefully placed her side down. Once she was satisfied it was put down correctly, she let go.]

What was it like to drive a boat? [There was a lot Kairi wanted to know, as there was so much in this world that her world had no idea of. This seemed like the most perfect time more than any to find our more.]

It's no different than driving a satomobile, except you're on water. [Asami has to pause at that. She's come across too many people who've never heard of a satomobile, so placing a hand under her chin] You know what a vehicle is, don't you?

[She shakes her head slightly.]

I lived on a small island, we could just walk everywhere. Although to get to other islands we;d have small individual boats, but that's it.

Were they motorized?

[These are important questions to Asami]

No, we had to row them ourselves.

[They were tiny, she didn't see the point in having them motorized.]

[Asami only nods at that]

It'd be easier to show you. But IIII don't think I've seen a speedboat around here yet.

[She can understand one not being around. From what she has seen the only types of boats here were the ones they were currently on.]

So there are different kinds that are different to this one and the one I had back home. I guess many other things might be different.

[She wasn't betting her life on anything like that being here to being with. Unless she tried to recreate herself somehow]

I would think so. [There's a thoughtful pause from her end] What's your home like?

My home? [She pauses to think about it.] It's quiet, peaceful. it's a place where everyone knows everyone and we all get along. The only downside to the place is the fact there isn't much to do, though.

[She just smiles at that]

Well it still sounds lovely. What kind of stuff do you like to do that you can't do there?

[She goes quiet. That is actually a good question and to be honest, she wasn't sure the answer.]

I just like travelling at the moment. Seeing new places that I might not have seen back home.

Then you must like it on the ship. There were only a few places I've been to back home, so I admit something like this can be exciting.

[She nods happily, putting her hands together as she glanced at them.]

I do like it here. I mean I have friends, people I can trust and I get to explore new and interesting places. I'm sure it's a good learning experience while we're here.

That's one way of looking at it...even with the Navy chasing us. But I guess you could say it helps in a sense so you know how to defend yourself.

[Her smile falters a little as she says that. That didn't make it better, but it helped make it seem less worse than it was]

[She gave a small but firm nod. She had no idea ho to defend herself well enough, but she knew a small thing or two.]

And if we can't, we have plenty of people who can help.

Do you have someone helping you?

[She doesn't mean that in way to imply Kairi can't take care of herself (because there was a good chance she could), but she mainly asks out of curiosity]

I have my friends. I mean, I'm still learning so I have a ways to go before I can defend myself well enough.
