[ Weiss has been keeping to herself for a few days, really only having spoken with Ruby and Jaune so far.. but this situation has come to a climax. She can't take it anymore. She has to do something! Even if it means acknowledging the other people who may or may not actually be pirates. ]

I'm going to ask you all a question and one of you had better have an answer! Is there anywhere in this place to sleep that isn't full of smelly drunkards? Maybe a place with an ice machine that looks a little more like it's got zero chance of bugs.

[ Weiss's tone is dead serious. She has absolutely no tolerance for this quality of rooming. Bunk beds, dorm rooms? Fine. They're clean, warm, and more than comfortable at the top school for huntresses and hunters. They definitely aren't situated over a noisy bar. The other option was to actually get a ship and she wasn't going to deal with a tiny little dinghy-- that would probably be worse than the room. ]

I know my standards can be a little high sometimes... but there is absolutely no way I'm staying in a place that's not even fit for animals for one more night. [ The last three words are punctuated to emphasize her point. ]

At the risk of stating the obvious, I'm not familiar with it.

It's one of the best academies in Remnant for hunters and huntresses. I'm a student there, from Team RWBY. Ruby Rose is our team leader, she's also here, then Jaune Arc is the leader from Team JNPR. Those are all the people I know that are here already.

This Ruby Rose... does she have black hair and fight with a scythe?

I ran into her when she first arrived. I told her she could join us on the Antoinette if she wanted, which I suppose is an offer I should extend to you and your other friend as well.

What are your policies as a group? I'll have to discuss it with the two of them before we agree to anything, but chances are she didn't missed a few key things to ask.

That's actually a bit up in the air at the moment. Our original captain disappeared a few weeks ago and we're still breaking in the new one, so to speak. But as a group we're not interested in actual piracy, and Suoh-san's policy seems to be to treat the crew like a family.

That seems incredibly vague. Family dynamics can vary incredibly. If my family and I acted the same way that Ruby and Yang do, one of us would've had a very different life.

He's not a bad person. Well-intentioned, excitable, easily sidetracked. I'd use the word "silly." I'm positive he'd be happy to talk to you if you'd like.

He sounds like Ruby with less of an understanding of responsibility.

That's... actually not a bad comparison, though I wouldn't downplay his sense of responsibility.

I'd have to talk to him myself, though I have an offer for The Shepards as well. What are your crew and captain's thoughts on piracy?

[~~Damn Shepards get all the cool people. MARIBELLE YOU'RE DOING THIS ON PURPOSE o9~~] We're passively against it. Unfortunately most of the crew are non-combatants, so we can't really go around engaging pirates in fights.

What sort of skills do you have if you're going out into a dangerous world without the ability to defend yourself?

They're mostly... entertainers. I've been taking care of defense myself.

[ How the hell are they even surviving? In a world where people don't even have basic amenities, Weiss isn't quite sure how they have time to be entertainers and not consider learning another skill. If they were as new as she was, they wouldn't have a ship already. She's judging pretty hard, and it's obvious in her tone. ]

What kind of crew are you?

[Karen gets a bit louder now. She's trying not to start shouting or anything, but it's clear from both her tone and her words that her feathers are ruffled.]

The kind that's still here to be berated. Miss Schnee, we have been through a lot, and we are doing what we can with the skills that we have. That's what every crew is doing. It's what you're going to do, too, regardless of where you end up.

Penny's definitely not who she's working with. ] I attend an elite school for hunters and huntresses in training to fight the creatures of Grimm. I'm not used to thinking of entertainers as more than anything other than, well, entertainment.

It's fine. It's a strange and stressful situation, after all.

And to be perfectly honest, you're right about one thing. We aren't very well-equipped to defend ourselves. I have some experience fighting creatures myself, but the others... well, they can fire a cannon, but they'd be in trouble if we were boarded.

You'd do well not to get boarded then. I don't know that I'd be ready to follow a stranger without meeting the rest of the crew, but if you ever need help...

[ What can she say? She likes Karen a little already. It's not horribly common for her to like someone quickly. ]

[Well it's obvious why she'd get to like Karen in particular! It's because they have some things in common, like being fancy ladies with silly friends, which has given them somewhat similar outlooks on life. ~~and also because she's being enharemed~~]
